Airbus Group y Ariane Group han firmado un contrato anunciado el 21/11 para el próximo lote de transición de grandes estructuras de fibra de carbono del Ariane 6. El contrato incluye la fabricación y el suministro de estructuras innovadoras, grandes y ligeras para los próximos catorce lanzadores Ariane 6, que se fabricarán hasta 2025. El contrato apoyará el aumento de ArianeGroup hasta alcanzar el ritmo de producción total para entonces.

Airbus construye hasta cuatro estructuras de fibra de carbono para cada lanzador Ariane en su sitio de Getafe, cerca de Madrid. La nueva instalación industrial 4.0 de última generación incluye una línea de fabricación y montaje dedicada a las estructuras del lanzador Ariane 6. El programa Ariane 6 es el único activo europeo que permite el acceso independiente al espacio para misiones estratégicas y la flexibilidad para lanzar cargas útiles pesadas y ligeras a una amplia gama de órbitas para aplicaciones como la observación de la Tierra, las telecomunicaciones, la meteorología, la ciencia y la navegación.
