Air India entre mayores aerolíneas del mundo

El Tata Group de India, conocido por su industria metalúrgica y la fabricación de coches, era hasta hace poco el propietario de Vistara Airlines, una gran aerolínea india. Iniciaba como una low cost en co-propiedad con Singapore Airlines, convirtiéndose en una de las aerolíneas más destacadas de la India. El conglomerado indio posee también una participación mayoritaria en AirAsia India que es una low cost del sureste asiático.

La familia Tata, que en su momento había fundado Air India, fue la única que presentó una oferta para quedarse con la aerolínea de bandera del país, después de que el Estado, con una pésima gestión, la dejara sin reputación y sin reservas. Los Tata volvían a tener la propiedad para reorganizar el caos en el grupo que comprende a Air India y Air India Express.

Respecto a Alliance Air, desde el 15 de Abril de 2022 ha quedado bajo el control del Gobierno de la India, después de que Tata Sons anunciara que no sería una subsidiaria de Air India, pues el grupo adquirió la propiedad de Air India en Enero de 2022. Posteriormente, Alliance Air comenzó a funcionar de forma independiente y a vender sus billetes bajo la bandera de Alliance Air.

Integración aerolíneas

Ahora, Tata Group ha dejado saber que las cuatro líneas aéreas, Air India, Air India Express, Vitara Airlines y AirAsia India, se van a fusionar para hacer una gran aerolínea india, en la que se conservará la presencia accionaria de Singapore Airlines, aunque se evalúa su dimensión. El primer paso será la disolución de AirAsia India en Air India, que será la aerolínea definitiva de los Tata y de la India. La parte más compleja de la fusión es la integración de Vistara en Air India. La marca Vistara Airlines desaparecerá y todo quedará bajo el paraguas Air India hacia el 2023.

Tras las sinergias de las líneas aéreas en Air India se convertiría en una de las mayores aerolíneas del mundo, compitiendo sin inconvenientes en el mercado doméstico como así también con las grandes del Golfo Pérsico en el mercado internacional.

Air India among the world’s largest airlines

India’s Tata Group, known for its metal industry and car manufacturing, was until recently the owner of Vistara Airlines, a large Indian airline. It started as a low cost co-owned with Singapore Airlines, becoming one of the most prominent airlines in India. The Indian conglomerate also owns a majority stake in AirAsia India, which is a low cost company in Southeast Asia.

Airlines integration
