Aerolíneas reclaman proceso integración ante Aerocivil Colombia

Avianca Airlines y Viva Air Colombia han presentado una apelación ante la Autoridad de Aviación Civil de Colombia por el proceso de integración de ambas aerolíneas que ha sido rechazado por la agencia aeronáutica colombiana. Las aerolíneas Avianca y Viva anunciaron el Miércoles 23/11 que presentaron un Recurso de Apelación ante la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia para reclamar un proceso de integración negado a comienzos de Noviembre 2022, y plantearon alternativas que incluyen la cesión de horarios de aterrizaje y despegue a competidores. Las dos empresas firmaron en Abril 2022 un acuerdo con el que buscaban hacer parte de un mismo grupo y unificar sus derechos económicos, manteniendo sus respectivas marcas y estrategias para fortalecer las aerolíneas tras la crisis mundial del sector aéreo por la crisis sanitaria mundial. Pero el organismo de aviación civil de Colombia objetó el proceso de integración al considerar que representa riesgos para la competencia en el sector y el bienestar de los consumidores.

Las dos aerolíneas dijeron que propusieron cinco puntos que recogen las preocupaciones de la autoridad y evidencian la voluntad de mantener la conectividad de las regiones y los empleos que genera Viva Air en Colombia. «Todo esto, encaminado a asegurar el bienestar general de los usuarios del transporte aéreo, especialmente de aquellos que han volado por primera vez gracias a Viva», dijo en un comunicado el Presidente y CEO de Avianca, Adrian Neuhauser.

Algunas de las proposiciones incluyen disminuir la participación de sus operaciones en el Aeropuerto Bogotá/El Dorado mantener la marca Viva y su modelo de bajo costo, el mayor número de empleos, aviones y conectividad, así como proteger tarifas en determinadas rutas. Adicionalmente, expresaron su interés para trabajar conjuntamente con la aerolínea estatal Satena para fortalecer su rol social como conector de las regiones más apartadas de Colombia.

Viva Air Colombia atraviesa por una compleja situación financiera por el impacto de la pandemia, agravada por el alza del precio del combustible durante este año y la devaluación de la moneda colombiana.

Airlines claim integration process before Aerocivil Colombia

Avianca Airlines and Viva Air Colombia have filed an appeal with the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority for the integration process of both airlines, which has been rejected by the Colombian aeronautical agency. Viva Air Colombia is going through a complex financial situation due to the impact of the pandemic, aggravated by the rise in fuel prices this year and the devaluation of the Colombian currency.
