WestJet operará tres nuevos destinos hacia 2Q2023
La aerolínea de presupuesto canadiense WestJet Airlines ha anunciado tres nuevos destinos internacionales a Tokio, Edimburgo y Barcelona. Estas son las tres ciudades a las que WestJet ha anunciado que volará desde su base principal, la ciudad de Calgary, en el centro oeste de Canadá, a partir de la primavera septentrional (2Q2023), en una expansión insólita en una aerolínea extremadamente competitiva, al alza, pero que no dispone de una densa red de rutas. Los tres nuevos destinos de WestJet operarán aproximadamente desde finales de Abril a principios de Mayo 2023, introduciéndose en la renovación de temporada.
Actualmente, WestJet opera vuelos internacionales a Dublín, Londres, París y Roma en Europa. En el caso de Londres, opera desde London/Gatwick, donde tiene un acuerdo con Easyjet como distribuidora de red europea.
El CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech expresó que esta expansión es parte de la expansión que la compañía tendrá desde Calgary, Alberta (AB). La estrategia de WestJet se enmarca en captar pasajeros del centro y oeste de Norteamérica, usando a Calgary como hub distribuidor. La flota actualizada de Boeing 787 (7) y Boeing 737 (96) permiten enlazar a Calgary con Norteamérica.

Canadian budget airline WestJet Airlines has announced three new international destinations to Tokyo, Edinburgh and Barcelona. These are the three cities that WestJet has announced that it will fly from its main base, the city of Calgary, in the central west of Canada, starting in the northern spring (2Q2023), in an unusual expansion in an extremely competitive airline, upward, but which does not have a dense network of routes. WestJet’s three new destinations will operate from approximately late April to early May 2023, entering the season renewal.
WestJet currently operates international flights to Dublin, London, Paris and Rome in Europe. In the case of London, it operates from London/Gatwick, where it has an agreement with Easyjet as a European network distributor.
CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech expressed that this expansion is part of the expansion that the company will have from Calgary, Alberta (AB). WestJet’s strategy is part of attracting passengers from central and western North America, using Calgary as a distribution hub. The updated fleet of Boeing 787 (7) and Boeing 737 (96) allow Calgary to connect with North America.
