La presidenta de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Isela Costantini, afirmó que la empresa se encuentra «muy bien parada respecto al desafío» que se impuso al asumir la conducción, y manifestó su satisfacción por «depender cada vez menos de los subsidios del Estado. Estamos satisfechos de depender cada vez menos de los subsidios del Estado. Y aunque nos queda mucho para mejorar, debemos sentirnos satisfechos por el esfuerzo realizado en pos de nuestro gran objetivo que es depender cada vez menos de los subsidios del Estado». Señaló que si bien aún falta poco más de un mes y medio para el final del año y del consecuente balance, «se puede decir que estamos parados muy bien, respecto al desafío que nos habíamos impuesto a comienzo de nuestra gestión».

Isela Costantini mantuvo un agasajo a periodistas realizado en la sede de la compañía de bandera en el Aeroparque Metrolopólitano Jorge Newbery, por el inminente fin de año. la CEO reafirmó su convicción que el Grupo Aerolíneas está siendo saneado. «Los empleados se han sumado y entienden el desafío que nos hemos propuesto y gran parte de esto se debe a que no somos un grupo de gestión que viene a conducir la empresa, sino que somos un grupo que vino a liderar a todas las personas que se quieran sumar a la transformación del Grupo Aerolíneas», afirmó. «Vemos que hay un apoyo de todos los empleados para lograr que esta empresa sea más eficiente». En términos de proceso «hemos mejorado muchísimo, en áreas de estructura de equipos, de controles de costos, en cuestiones de gestión, porque ahora tenemos objetivos, por primera vez estamos armando presupuestos, algo que la empresa no tenía».

Estimó que se llegará a fin del año fiscal «con una empresa más profesionalizada, en la que cada empleado tiene una idea de cómo puede aportar para el crecimiento». En cuanto al recorte presupuestario de parte del Gobierno para Aerolíneas en el año 2017 y adujo que esto se debe, por un lado a una necesidad del Estado de reducir sus erogaciones y por el otro a una mayor eficiencia por parte de la compañía. «La realidad es que no hay plata y el presupuesto del Gobierno es limitado y debe ver como hace para atender a todas las necesidades», continuó la presidenta de la compañía. «Esta empresa venía con un promedio de subsidio del Estado de u$s600 millones en los últimos años y no es sustentable mantener ese nivel durante tanto tiempo», prosiguió. Agregó que «nunca se trabajó tanto para ver dónde estaban las deficiencias y las mejoras que se podían implementar para mejorar». «Lo hemos estado logrando desde la mejora en la financiación de las deudas que tenía la empresa, como por ejemplo por la compra de aviones y hemos ido buscando alternativas para bajar también los costos operativos y lo fuimos logrando», aclaró.

Recalcó que «hay líneas aéreas en el mundo que quebraron y muchas de ellas que resurgieron de las quiebras y hoy son rentables. No estamos todavía en la rentabilidad, pero tenemos muchas oportunidades de ir lográndola en el transcurso de los años».

Finalmente, haciendo alusión al posible desembarco de compañías aéreas de la categoría «low cost», la CEO insistió en que «hay que ver cómo y en qué condiciones vienen a competir las aerolíneas de bajo costo, porque ellas buscan aeropuertos alternativos y eso puede darse en Buenos Aires, pero no en el resto del país». «Y si eso significa una baja para ellos de los costos operativos en los aeropuertos del interior, también va a implicar una baja en los costos para nosotros», aseguró.

«Los argentinos que hoy viajan desde y hacia Aeroparque, ¿van a buscar un aeropuerto alternativo como por ejemplo Palomar?», se preguntó la presidenta de Aerolíneas. «Hay una dinámica cultural de cómo la sociedad argentina se va a acomodar a las operaciones de estas compañías.
