Airbus sells 60 A320neo aircraft to low cost Saudi airline Flynas

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has announced the sale of 60 A320neo single-aisle aircraft to low-cost Saudi airline Flynas under a contract that also includes the conversion of a previous order of another 20 aircraft .

An Airbus spokesman explained today that Flynas has decided to transform that previous order of 20 units of the A320 into A320neo, that is to say the modernized version of its star airplane that offers a saving of fuel thanks to more efficient motors and devices in the wings that Improve their aerodynamics.

The spokesman declined to disclose the overall amount of this contract. The catalog price of the aircraft chosen by the Saudi airline is 108.4 million euros each, which means that the overall value of the 80 A320neo aircraft that it will receive would be about 8.67 billion dollars.

The agreement between the European manufacturer and the Saudi company was closed last year, which is why the aircraft were included in the orders for Airbus in 2016, and until now were attributed to an unknown customer.

According to Flynas (owned by Prince Walid Ben Talal), these aircraft will serve to meet a particularly high demand in their home market of Saudi Arabia.

Deliveries will be staged between 2018 and 2026. The airline’s current fleet, which has exceeded 6 million current passengers, is composed of about thirty aircraft, essentially Airbus A320 single-aisle family. A\W
