Un Boeing 737-300 de Sriwijaya Air realizó aterrizaje forsozo en Indonesia

El vuelo SJ-570 de la aerolínea Sriwijaya Air con sede en Yakarta, Indonesia, sufrió un accidente en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Manokwari (MKW) este miércoles 31 de mayo, durante el aterrizaje en la pista 35 en medio de una fuerte tormenta que azotaba dicha región de Indonesia.

El vuelo proveniente de Sorong, operado por un Boeing 737-300 matrícula PK-CJC, realizo un aterrizaje forsozo debido a la incapacidad de la tripulación de frenar la aeronave que salio del final de la pista y que se pudo detener unos 30 metros después, colapsando el tren de aterrizaje de nariz colapsó. Las condiciones de fuertes lluvias en la estación y pista contaminada, probablemente pudieron contribuir al accidente, mismo que es investigado por la autoridad aeronáutica de Indonesia. La aeronave transportaba a 146 pasajeros y seis miembros de la tripulación quienes evacuaron la aeronave a través de los toboganes. Ninguno de los ocupantes resultó herido, pero la aeronave recibió daños sustanciales.

Posterior al accidente, el Aeropuerto de Manokwari, ubicado en Papúa Occidental, Indonesia, cerró sus operaciones durante 9 horas, mientras se realizaron los trabajos para retirar la aeronave del lugar.

El Boeing 737-300 (MSN24025) realizó su primer vuelo el 17 de mayo de 1988, una edad media de 29 años impulsados por dos motores CFM56-3B2.

Following the accident, Manokwari Airport, located in West Papua, Indonesia, closed its operations for 9 hours, while work was carried out to remove the aircraft from the site.
