La línea aérea Southwest Airlines el mayor operador mundial de Boeing y uno de los mayores clientes para el futuro avión Boeing 737 MAX

Southwest Airlines, comenzó sus operaciones en 1971 con 3 Boeing 737-200. Tras 46 años de contínua operaciones con aeronaves Boeing 737 es uno de los principales operadores de Estados Unidos.

Este mes Southwest Airlines alcanzó un hito importante en su historia al tomar entrega del 737º Boeing 737. En una ceremonia celebrada el pasado jueves en el Centro de entregas de Boeing en Seattle, Bill Rogers y Peggy Hain, Gerentes de Servicios de Campo de Aeronaves de Southwest, cortaron la tradicional cinta roja que marca el momento histórico del operador. Después de la ceremonia, el Boeing 737-800 de registro N8533S, recibirá la intervención del Equipo Técnico Operacional de Southwest para la instalación de los winglets y el sistema de wi-fi.

Southwest Airlines cubre 101 destinos con un tráfico de más de 100 millones de clientes cada año. La aerolínea ha utilizado diferentes modelos a lo largo de su historia, pasando por os Boeing 737-200/300/400/500/700/800. Es la mayor operadora mundial de Boeing y también uno de los mayores clientes para la nueva generación de aeronaves del fabricante, el Boeing 737 MAX. Tiene una cartera de pedidos por 200 MAX, treinta 737-7 MAX y 170 Boeing 737-8 MAX.

Southwest Airlines, began operations in 1971 with 3 Boeing 737-200s. After 46 years of continuous operations with aircraft, Boeing 737 is one of the main operators in the United States.

This month Southwest Airlines reached an important milestone in its history by taking delivery of the 737th Boeing 737. At a ceremony held last Thursday at the Boeing Deliveries Center in Seattle, Bill Rogers and Peggy Hain, Field Aircraft Field Service Southwest, cut the traditional red ribbon that marks the historic moment of the operator. After the ceremony, the Boeing 737-800 registration N8533S will receive the intervention of the Southwest Operational Task Force for the installation of the winglets and wi-fi system.
