Air Berlín está atravesando una crisis económica difícil. El protecto de integrarse a Niki y Tuifly había fracasado

La compañía Air Berlin fracasó en su intento de unirse junto a Niki y Tiufly para hacer una aerolínea vacacional integrada. El Gobierno central alemán parece haberse negado a aportar dinero, mientras que el estado de Berlín dice que puede estudiar el asunto. Los vuelos de Berlín a Viena, Palma de Mallorca, Zurich y Nueva York fueron cancelados.

El Director General de Air Berlin, Thomas Winkelmann,expresó que tiene un proyecto de futuro basada en achicar la aerolínea, pero la realidad es saber como respondería sin una gota de liquidez. Pero este jueves pasado Tuifly dio marcha atrás a la negociación y ahora se queda con unos aviones que no tienen encaje en el plan. Otra aerolínea que está pendiente de la situación es Ryanair ha protestado enérgicamente debido a las maniobras para que Lufthansa se quede con su rival. Ryanair dice que Air Berlín, si va mal, debe cerrar y que sus servicios los cubran quienes puedan, entre ellos la propia Ryanair, por supuesto. En todo caso, su acusación de que la absorción del número dos de Alemania por parte del número uno parece que puede afectar a la competencia, claramente.
