Ciudad de México, México · La industria aérea latinoamericana cumplió anticipadamente con los objetivos en materia de seguridad operacional trazados para 2020, destacó el director ejecutivo de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Transporte Aéreo.

En el marco de la 8th Pan American Aviation Safety Summit, la industria aérea latinoamericana cumplió con anticipación con los objetivos en materia de seguridad operacional trazados para 2020, destacó el director ejecutivo Eduardo Iglesias de la Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe del Transporte Aéreo (ALTA). Refirió que hace 10 años la región registraba una alta incidencia de eventos, sin embargo, con la colaboración de diversas entidades, así como la renovación de la flota, permitieron una reducción en los mismos. «Hemos llevado a la región de aquellos índices a ser una de las más reconocidas en la mejora de su índice de seguridad, y estamos hoy al mismo nivel de las aerolíneas más seguras del mundo», argumentó.

Participaron 35 aeropuertos internacionales de México, Brasil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Perú, Chile, Panamá, Bolivia y Colombia estuvieron representados a través de AMERIPOL y CLACIP. El despliegue de policías judiciales en aeropuertos internacionales permitió la generación de 54 alertas que vinculaban a 76 personas, de las cuales 39 estaban involucradas. Los países afectados por el origen de los vuelos fueron Colombia, México, Brasil, Perú y República Dominicana, y los principales destinos internacionales fueron Francia, Canadá, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Países Bajos, Cuba, México y España. Estas intervenciones y cobertura regional sirvieron como punto de referencia para determinar nuevos puntos regionales de fraude de boletos aéreos. Seis miembros de las líneas aéreas de ALTA participaron activamente en la iniciativa de notificación de alertas.

El director Regional de la Oficina Regional para Norteamérica, Centroamérica y El Caribe de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI), Melvin Cintron, explicó que pese a que se llegó a la meta anticipadamente, se trabaja en acciones que abonen a que se reduzca cada vez más. «Nuestra región sigue disminuyendo los eventos y parte de eso es por los esfuerzos de trabajar conjuntamente la industria, la autoridad civil, de aviación, por eso tenemos un gran éxito en la región», abundó Cintron.

En conferencia de prensa sobre el foro ALTA PanAmerican Aviation Safety Summit 2017, el directivo destacó que lo anterior se logró a pesar de contar con un mayor número de aeronaves y el doble de pasajeros. Por su parte, el director regional para la Seguridad de la Aviación Panamericana (RAGS-PA), Carlos Cirilo, comentó que en América han disminuido en 50 por ciento los incidentes aéreos, al pasar de 1.15 a 0.5 por ciento. «La reducción se ha logrado entre 2010 y 2017, y cuando empezamos el trabajo teníamos la media de reducir 50 por ciento de los retos de fatalidades y lo conseguimos hace un año, cuando la meta era 2020», puntualizó.

As part of the 8th Pan American Aviation Safety Summit, the Latin American airline industry met ahead of the safety targets set for 2020, said executive director Eduardo Iglesias of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) . The deployment of judicial police at international airports allowed the generation of 54 alerts linking 76 people, of whom 39 were involved. The countries affected by the origin of flights were Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Peru and Dominican Republic, and the main international destinations were France, Canada, Colombia, the United States, the Netherlands, Cuba, Mexico and Spain. These interventions and regional coverage served as a reference point for determining new regional points for air ticket fraud. Six members of ALTA Airlines actively participated in the alert notification initiative.

The Regional Director for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Melvin Cintron, explained that although the goal was reached in advance, actions are being taken to reduce increasingly. «Our region continues to diminish the events and part of that is because of the efforts of the industry, civil aviation authority, that is why we have a great success in the region,» Cintron said.

In a press conference on the ALTA forum PanAmerican Aviation Safety Summit 2017, the director stressed that this was achieved despite having a larger number of aircraft and twice as many passengers. For his part, the regional director for the Security of the Pan American Aviation (RAGS-PA), Carlos Cirilo, commented that in America they have decreased in 50 percent the aerial incidents, happening from 1.15 to 0.5 percent. «The reduction has been achieved between 2010 and 2017, and when we started work we had the average of reducing 50 percent of the fatality challenges and we got it a year ago, when the target was 2020,» he said.
