Norwegian empieza hoy a vender sus vuelos low cost de Buenos Aires a Londres

La aerolínea noruega puso fecha para el viaje inaugural entre los aeropuertos de Ezeiza y Gatwick. «Es el primer paso para nuestro crecimiento nacional e internacional en el país», anticipó su CEO, Bjorn Kjos.

Norwegian Airlines estrenará sus vuelos low cost a América Latina, unirá por primera vez Buenos Aires y Londres el próximo 14 de febrero de 2018. Los pasajes iniciales estarán a la venta este mismo jueves en la web de la compañía, a un precio promocional que irá desde las 299 libras (unos $6.150 en moneda argentina) por el viaje de ida y 598 libras (unos $12.300) si incluye el regreso.

Los tickets se venderán bajo las condiciones que la empresa de origen noruego ofrece bajo la categoría «LowFare», por lo que los pasajeros sólo podrán subir al avión con una valija de cabina de no más de diez kilos. La tarifa no incluye la posibilidad de despachar equipaje, ni elegir asiento ni recibir comida a bordo, entre otras comodidades. Quien desee contar con una o más de ellas deberá pagarlas por separado.

Quienes deseen viajar en la modalidad tradicional con reserva de asiento y facturación de una valija de hasta 20 kilos deberán optar por la tarifa «LowFare+», que comenzará en 349 libras (unos $7.170) para vuelos de ida o 698 libras (unos $14.340) con el regreso incluido.

Para los usuarios de mayor presupuesto, Norwegian ofrecerá también pasajes «Premium» con asientos más grandes y mayores comodidades a 699 libras (unos $14.370) por un vuelo de ida o 1398 libras (unos $28.740) con el vuelo de regreso incluido. Quienes opten por esa categoría tendrán incluida la posibilidad de reservar asiento, despachar dos valijas de hasta 20 kilos cada una, subir a la cabina una tercera de hasta 15 kilos y una comida de mejor calidad a bordo.

Si bien se trata de precios promocionales, las tarifas que ofrece Norwegian Airlines para sus primeros viajes son significativamente más baratas que las que ofrecen la alianza de British Airways e Iberia, hasta hoy únicos operadores de los vuelos sin escala de la ruta Buenos Aires-Londres. De acuerdo con el breve relevamiento que realizó Infobae esta mañana, los pasajes ida y vuelta más baratos que ambas aerolíneas ofrecen entre el 14 y el 21 de febrero de 2018 arrancan en 944 libras (unos $19.400). Es decir, al menos 36% más caros que los de su flamante competidora.

Los detalles de los primeros vuelos fueron confirmados esta mañana por el propio CEO de la compañía, Bjorn Kjos, en el encuentro que compartió con el embajador argentino Carlos Sersale en la residencia oficial que el diplomático tiene en Londres.

«Vemos un gran potencial en el mercado argentino. Esto es un gran hito no sólo por ser nuestra primera ruta en América del Sur, sino también porque es el primer paso hacia nuestro ambicioso plan de crecimiento nacional e internacional en el país», dijo Kjos en la presentación conjunta.

En la reunión, el fundador de la tercera mayor aerolínea low cost de Europa confirmó que, en un principio, la empresa conectará Buenos Aires con Londres cuatro veces por semana. Los vuelos serán realizados los lunes, miércoles, viernes y sábados por un único avión Boeing 787 Dreamliner. La aeronave unirá el aeropuerto de Ezeiza con Gatwick, el segundo aeropuerto de Londres luego de Heathrow.

La ruta Buenos Aires-Londres forma parte de la agresiva estrategia de expansión a otros continentes que Norwegian comenzó a principios de este año con el lanzamiento de sus viajes a bajo costo a Estados Unidos y Asia. A principios del año que viene, Argentina se convertirá en el primer destino latinoamericano de la compañía.

El proyecto coincide además con la apertura del mercado aéreo que el Gobierno Argentino incentiva desde la asunción de Mauricio Macri. La decisión se vio salpicada por la investigación judicial que involucra al propio Presidente por el presunto conflicto de intereses que existe entre la venta de la empresa familiar MacAir Jet a la firma Avianca, una de las aerolíneas que puja por entrar en el mercado local.
