La República Dominicana incrementará el tráfico de nuevas aerolíneas

La Junta de Aviación Civil (JAC) anunció el ingreso de cuatro nuevas aerolíneas al sector aerocomercial durante los primeros meses de 2018, ampliando y fortaleciendo la conectividad de la República Dominicana con Estados Unidos y territorios del Caribe, Sudamérica y Europa.

Las aerolíneas que ingresan al sistema se destaca la aerolínea surinamesa FlyAllWays, que inició en Febrero 2018 con vuelos regulares hacia Santo Domingo, conectando 2,337 pasajeros entre Willemstad, Curazao y Las Américas. Turpial Airlines, línea aérea venezolana con hub en la ciudad de Valencia, ha transportado 3,782 pasajeros desde el inicio de sus operaciones en el mes de Marzo. Air Italy, con base en Milán-Malpensa, que reactiva sus operaciones hacia el país luego del cese de Meridiana en Febrero 2018. Los ejecutivos de la compañía italiana relanzaron la aerolínea con nueva imagen y marca, movilizando más de 17 mil pasajeros en el periodo enero-mayo 2018, conectando los puntos de Milán y Roma con La Romana. En ese mismo grupo, Winair, propiedad del gobierno de Saint Marteen, reinició operaciones en marzo, movilizando 5,057 pasajeros. Dentro de las aerolíneas nacionales están Sky High Aviation Services y Servicios Aéreos Profesionales. En tanto la línea aérea dominicana Air Century ha movilizado más de diez mil pasajeros en los primeros meses del año. Las nuevas líneas fortalecerán el sector e incrementarán el tráfico de turistas al país.

El Aeropuerto El Palomar ha alcanzado el octavo puesto en Argentina por tráfico de pasajeros

En Mayo 2018 el Aeropuerto Internacional de El Palomar alcanzó los 54.000 pasajeros en vuelos de cabotaje. La principal empresa aérea que opera en esta aeroestación, Flybondi, sirve a 11 destinos y en Julio sumará dos destinos adicionales.

Como tercer aeropuerto del área metropolitana, El Palomar tuvo un arranque con varias complicaciones, pero su intenso tráfico logró que a estas alturas se transformó en el octavo aeropuerto con mayor tráfico en Argentina, logrando que la únic aerolínea operativa, Flybondi, continúa fortaleciendo su posición. Aunque falta definir la apertura de Norwegian Air Argentina, que inicialmente había pedido operar desde este aeropuerto, su start-up todavía está algo demorado. Mientras que otras dos aerolíneas que aún no tienen rutas asignadas también pidieron volar desde ahí.

Según datos de la Empresa Argentina de Navegación Aérea (EANA), en Mayo 2018 54.000 pasajeros tomaron vuelos desde y hacia el Aeropuerto El Palomar, casi el doble de lo que registraron en Abril, y por eso el aeropuerto se ubicó como el octavo del país en cabotaje, por delante de Salta y Tucumán, dos destinos turísticos fuertes. Durante el último fin de semana largo de Mayo, escaló a la séptima posición debido a los 10.250 pasajeros entre partidas y arribos para superar a Tucumán (10.124), Salta (10.117) y Ezeiza (7.383) en vuelos de cabotaje, quedando cerca de Iguazú (10.361) y Bariloche (10.741).

Flybondi ya acaparó un 7% del mercado local. Según datos del Ministerio de Transporte, la ruta de mayor movimiento fue la conexión con Córdoba, con 2.729 pasajeros transportados en ambos sentidos, seguida de Mendoza con 1.276 pasajeros y después Posadas, con 1.265. Con sus cuatro aviones, las operaciones de Flybondi tuvieron un 82% de puntualidad, según confirmó su CEO, Julian Cook. Al iniciar las operaciones en febrero, la empresa empezó a volar con grandes demoras, que en varios casos provocó cancelaciones, porque sólo tenían un avión.

Ahora, Flybondi tiene su quinta nave en el país y espera ponerla en el aire este mes. La semana pasada inauguró su ruta El Palomar-Bahía Blanca, a mediados de mes empezará a viajar a Salta, y en julio lo hará a Santiago del Estero para completar los primeros 13 destinos desde el Oeste.

Mientras tanto, se espera por una definición de Norwegian Air Argentina, que retrasó su inicio de actividades y no está claro si volará desde El Palomar. Otras dos empresas que sí manifestaron su intención de usar la nueva terminal son JetSmart Airlines y Sky Airline.
