Erupción del Volcán de Fuego en Guatemala

La Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) reportó que la salida de vuelos en dirección a Estados Unidos, México y Panamá se encuentran suspendidos. El volcán de Fuego reportó una fuerte explosión que lanzó columnas de ceniza, por lo cual las autoridades incrementaron las labores de monitoreo, ante el riesgo en las comunidades cercanas.

Según el Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología (Insivumeh), “la erupción del volcán de Fuego, es la más fuerte registrada en los últimos años, levantando gruesas columnas de ceniza a una altura de 10 mil metros sobre el nivel del mar (32 mil 808 pies)”. Además, por la velocidad del viento los municipios de Mixco, Villa Nueva, Guatemala han sido afectados.

David de León, portavoz de la Coordinadora Nacional para la Reducción de Desastres (Conred), aseguró que esta fuerte explosión corresponde a la segunda fase eruptiva del año, provocando la caída de “finas partículas” de cenizas y minerales sobre comunidades colindantes al volcán, pero a pesar de la intensa actividad, de momento “no es necesario realizar evacuaciones”.

Inicialmente la caída de ceniza afectaba únicamente a comunidades cercanas como San Pedro Yepocapa, Chimaltenango y la finca Sangre de Cristo, y en Antigua Guatemala; sin embargo, en varias zonas de la capital y municipios aledaños se reporta lloviznas acompañadas de ceniza.

Esta es la segunda vez en el año que el volcán se activa, el cual puede afectar a cerca de 10 mil personas que viven en unas ocho comunidades cercanas. El pasado 1 de febrero, el volcán de Fuego registró actividad eruptiva por más de 20 horas. Cercanas al volcán se encuentran ocho comunidades.

Suspenden vuelos

La Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) reportó que la salida de vuelos en dirección a Estados Unidos, México y Panamá se encuentran suspendidos.

Julian Cook, CEO de Flybondi de Argentina dijo que desearía vender tickets aéreos a AR$ 200 pero el Estado Argentino le pone freno a la tarifa mínima que reclama la aerolínea low cost. Flybondi desea hizo un balance de lo que va del año y adelantó cuáles serán las nuevas rutas y que otras podrían sumarse en los próximos meses

“Nosotros queremos apuntar al público que no vuela y nada mejor que precios bajos para cambiar la mentalidad: Por ejemplo, me gustaría vender pasajes a AR$ 200 pesos, más allá de que eso no se puede hacer porque no permiten hacerlo a menos de AR$ 500. En Argentina el año pasado volaron por el país 13 millones de pasajeros y para nosotros hay un mercado de 30 millones de pasajeros”, sostuvo el CEO de Flybondi.

Flybondi tiene 14 destinos y cuatro aviones en funcionamiento, pero en breve sumarán nuevas rutas y una quinta aeronave, con una proyección de llegar a siete en breve. En Abril 2018 ha cubierto el 5% del mercado de cabotaje y estiman llegar al 10%. Dentro de los objetivos a mediano plazo es llegar al 25%. El mercado tiene un potencial muy importante, un país enorme, con distancias grandes.

Nuevas rutas

Flybondi sumó hace unas semanas su ruta número 13, Posadas, y en menos de un mes ya tiene un 70% de factor de ocupación, según confirmaron de la empresa. Bahía Blanca es el nuevo destino. El vuelo inaugural a Bahía Blanca partirá el Jueves, 7 Junio 2018 desde el Aeropuerto El Palomar. Se proyectan varias más para los próximos meses. En breve a Salta, Santiago del Estero e Iguazú, y antes de fin de año la idea es volar a Montevideo, Punta del Este y Río de Janeiro, más Asunción. Ushuaia, El Calafate, Formosa, para la segunda parte del año. La aerolínea comenzó a operar a fines de enero de 2018 y ya cuenta con 13 rutas operativas a Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, Tucumán, Neuquén, Bariloche, Corrientes, Jujuy, Posadas, Iguazú. Próximamente se sumarán las rutas Salta (15/06), El Palomar-Puerto Iguazú (01/07) y Santiago del Estero (02/07).

El objetivo de Flybondi es llegar a fin de año con un millón y medio de pasajes vendidos: “Analizaremos en esta semana las rutas y veremos cómo seguimos.
