La aerolínea kuwaití es nuevo cliente del Airbus A330-800NEO

Kuwait Airways, la aerolínea nacional del estado de Kuwait, ha firmado un Acuerdo de Compra para ocho aviones Airbus A330-800. El acuerdo fue firmado por Yousef Al-Jassim, Presidente de Kuwait Airways y Christian Scherer, Director Comercial de Airbus, en la sede de Airbus en Toulouse.

Yousef Al-Jassim, Presidente de Kuwait Airways, dijo: “El A330-800 se integrará perfectamente en nuestros planes de expansión y crecimiento de la flota. Su insuperable economía operativa y su rendimiento, además del mejor confort para el pasajero, lo convierten en una buena inversión. Estamos seguros de que el A330-800 nos ayudará a competir de manera efectiva en nuestra red de rutas en expansión. Nuestra relación con Airbus se extiende más allá de las adquisiciones de aviones y esperamos una mayor colaboración en los campos técnicos».

El anuncio marca un paso importante en la estrategia de renovación y expansión de la flota de Kuwait Airways. La aerolínea nacional de Kuwait también tiene pedidos los aviones A350 XWB y A320NEO Family. La entrega de la nueva flota de Airbus comenzará en 2019. “Estamos encantados de que Kuwait Airways haya elegido el A330NEO como la piedra angular de su futura flota de fábricas. El A330-800 con su eficiencia y versatilidad únicas apoyará la ambición de la aerolínea de desarrollar su red de largo recorrido en expansión”, dijo Christian Scherer, Director Comercial de Airbus. «El avión complementará a la perfección el A320neos y el A350 XWB de Kuwait Airways, y ofrecerá una economía de operación inigualable, características comunes operativas completas y una experiencia de pasajeros sin igual».

Lanzada en julio de 2014, la familia A330NEO es la nueva generación del A330, que consta de dos versiones: el A330-800 y el A330-900 que comparten un 99 por ciento en común. Se basa en la probada economía, versatilidad y confiabilidad de la familia A330, al tiempo que reduce el consumo de combustible en aproximadamente un 25 por ciento por asiento frente a los competidores de la generación anterior y aumenta el alcance hasta 1.500 nm en comparación con la mayoría de los A330 en funcionamiento. El A330NEO está impulsado por los motores Trent 7000 de última generación de Rolls-Royce y cuenta con una nueva ala con mayor alcance y nuevos Sharklets inspirados en el A350 XWB. La cabina ofrece el confort de las nuevas amenidades del espacio aéreo.

El A330 es una de las familias de widgets más populares de la historia, ya que ha recibido más de 1.700 pedidos de 120 clientes. Más de 1.400 A330 vuelan con más de 120 operadores en todo el mundo. El A330NEO es la última incorporación a la familia líder de ancho de Airbus, que también incluye el A350 XWB y el A380, todos ellos con un espacio y una comodidad inigualables combinados con niveles de eficiencia sin precedentes y una capacidad de alcance sin igual.
