James Parker era abogado en San Antonio, Estado de Texas y era el ex fiscal general adjunto del estado antes de unirse a Southwest Airlines en 1986. Fue abogado general en Junio 2001 cuando fue nombrado para reemplazar a Herb Kelleher como CEO de la aerolínea low cost.

James Parker was a lawyer in San Antonio, State of Texas and was the former assistant state attorney general before joining Southwest Airlines in 1986. He was a general counsel in June 2001 when he was appointed to replace Herb Kelleher as CEO of the low cost airline.
