Tráfico aéreo incrementa 82% en 09/2022
CNET falta rentabilidad llevaría aerolíneas a dejar AIFA

El tráfico del Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles/NLU (AIFA) se dispara más de 80% con una segunda etapa de nuevas rutas. En Septiembre 2022, las aerolíneas abrieron nuevas conexiones hacia Puerto Escondido, Los Cabos, La Paz y Veracruz, como parte de una estrategia para impulsar al nuevo aeropuerto. El tráfico aéreo ha alcanzado la cifra de 91.085 pasajeros frente a 49.919 de Agosto 2022.

El AIFA prevé cerrar su primer año con 1 millón de pasajeros, a la fecha registra un avance de poco menos de 30% con 292,297 usuarios. La apertura de cuatro nuevas rutas nacionales, aunada a cuatro más que se abrieron en 08/2022, llevó al Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles/NLU a incrementar su tráfico aéreo en 82% durante Septiembre 2022, como parte de una estrategia que busca impulsar la demanda en el nuevo aeropuerto a alrededor de 100 operaciones diarias.

En Septiembre 2022, el tráfico de pasajeros en el aeropuerto pasó a 91,085 usuarios desde los 49,919 registrados el mes previo, con lo cual atendió a un promedio diario de pasajeros de 3,036 pasajeros, de acuerdo con datos de Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil (AFAC). Durante el periodo, la ruta hacia Cancún continuó con su consolidación como el destino más activo del AIFA, con 23.152 pasajeros, un 22% más que el año previo. A ésta le siguió Mérida, con 12.109 usuarios –un 42% más que en agosto–, y Monterrey, que, con 11.298 pasajeros, tuvo un repunte de más de 250% debido a que más aerolíneas operan la ruta, siendo también la que más pasajeros ganó en términos absolutos, con 8.137 pasajeros.

Actualmente tres aerolíneas nacionales Aeroméxico, Viva Aerobus y Volaris Airlines vuelan a catorce destinos en el país, ocho más en comparación con las seis rutas que tuvo el AIFA en su inauguración, el pasado 21 de Marzo de 2022. De las cuatro rutas que se abrieron durante el mes, Puerto Escondido fue la más activa, con 3.310 pasajeros; seguida de Los Cabos, con 2.139 usuarios, y La Paz, con 1.775 usuarios. En el periodo se abrieron dos rutas internacionales a República Dominicana, con Arajet, y a Panamá con Copa Airlines.

El AIFA tiene previsto cerrar su primer año de operaciones con más de un millón de pasajeros; sin embargo, en siete meses de operación lleva poco menos de 30% de ese avance, con poco más de 292.000 pasajeros.

CNET, falta rentabilidad

Las aerolíneas que están operando en el AIFA tendrían que recular a falta de rentabilidad. Aunque algunas aerolíneas que operan en el Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles/NLU han incrementado sus frecuencias, el factor de ocupación que registran es bajo y podría hacerlas recular, dijo este Lunes 31/10, Braulio Arsuaga, Presidente del Consejo Nacional Empresarial Turístico (CNET).

Durante una conferencia para presentar el panorama de la actividad turística en México, el líder del consejo que representa al sector privado en el país, expuso que las líneas aéreas que están en el aeropuerto Felipe Ángeles, lo hacen solo por tener presencia en dicha terminal. “Quiero pensar que es un tema hoy de sí estar presente desde el AIFA, salir desde el AIFA, pero si no es rentable, al final de cuentas seguramente estas aerolíneas tendrán que recular y quitar esas frecuencias”, sostuvo este Lunes 31/10 ante medios de comunicación. El directivo recordó que la postura que siempre ha tenido el CNET es en favor de “que funcione el sistema metropolitano de aviación: el AIFA, el AICM con todos los problemas que tiene, y el Aeropuerto de Toluca. Lo que requiere la industria es que sistema aeroportuario metropolitano tenga el volumen que el Gobierno planeó», expresó el Presidente de CNET.

Al opinar al respecto, el también participante de la conferencia y Director del Centro de Investigación y Competitividad Turística (Cicotur) de la Universidad Anáhuac, Francisco Madrid, expuso que el AIFA ha mejorado sus volúmenes, y posiblemente registraría más movimiento si no estuviera degradada la aeronáutica civil del país. «Por la degradación de la aeronáutica civil del país, el AIFA en este momento no tiene y no puede tener relaciones con líneas nacionales que tienen frecuencias hacia Estados Unidos», expuso el Director de Cicotur.

Sobre el panorama de la actividad turística, se detalló que el Cicotur estima un descenso de 43% en la cantidad de llegadas de turistas internacionales respecto a 2019. A pesar de la recuperación en el sector turístico, expusieron también que el centro de investigación calculó que el PIB turístico presenta una caída de 2.9% en el primer semestre de 2022.

CNET, profitability is lacking

The airlines that are operating in the AIFA would have to back down due to lack of profitability. Although some airlines that operate at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport/NLU have increased their frequencies, the occupancy factor they register is low and could make them back down, said this Monday 10/31, Braulio Arsuaga, President of the National Tourism Business Council (CNET).

Giving his opinion in this regard, Francisco Madrid, also a participant in the conference and Director of the Tourism Competitiveness and Research Center (Cicotur) of the Anahuac University, explained that the AIFA has improved its volumes, and possibly would register more movement if the civil aeronautics of the country. «Due to the degradation of the country’s civil aeronautics, the AIFA at this time does not have and cannot have relations with national lines that have frequencies to the United States», explained the Director of Cicotur.

Regarding the panorama of tourist activity, it was detailed that Cicotur estimates a 43% decrease in the number of international tourist arrivals compared to 2019. Despite the recovery in the tourism sector, they also stated that the research center calculated that Tourism GDP shows a 2.9% drop in the first half of 2022.
