Aerolíneas afectadas piden al gobierno francés y a los sindicatos que resuelvan sus problemas
Londres, Reino Unido · Más de un centenar de vuelos desde y hacia el Reino Unido han sido hoy cancelados por la huelga convocada por dos sindicatos de controladores aéreos en Francia, informaron fuentes oficiales.

El parón ha trastocado los planes de viaje de un significativo número de pasajeros, entre ellos los miles de aficionados de fútbol que se disponían a viajar a Francia para seguir los partidos de la Eurocopa, que se celebra en ese país.
La aerolínea British Airways (BA) lamentó hoy que esta nueva huelga de los controladores aéreos galos esté causando «frustración y trastornos innecesarios para los clientes».
«Una vez más, pedimos al gobierno francés y a los sindicatos que resuelvan sus problemas para que los pasajeros puedan irse de vacaciones o realicen sus viajes de negocios sin la amenaza de una huelga», señaló BA.
Esta aerolínea, integrada junto a las españolas Iberia y Vueling y la irlandesa Aer Lingus en el International Airlines Group (IAG), ha utilizado hoy aviones de gran capacidad para transportar el mayor número posible de pasajeros en vuelos no afectados por el parón.
Se trata de la décima huelga convocada por los sindicatos de controladores aéreos franceses durante los pasados tres meses y la número 51 desde 2009, recordó BA.
La aerolínea británica de bajo costo EasyJet informó hoy que canceló 70 vuelos que tenían previsto sobrevolar el espacio aéreo francés o que tenían su salida o llegada en aeropuertos del Reino Unido.
«Como todas las aerolíneas que vuelan hacia o desde Francia, EasyJet ha previsto cancelaciones y retrasos. Haremos todo lo posible para limitar el impacto que la huelga tendrá en nuestros clientes», declaró un portavoz de la compañía.
También la aerolínea irlandesa de bajo costo Ryanair canceló 56 vuelos por este mismo motivo y advirtió de que los parones de los controladores franceses se están convirtiendo en un «acontecimiento semanal».
«Es inaceptable que se permita que esto ocurra y, de nuevo, lamentamos que nos hayamos visto obligados a cancelar un número de vuelos por culpa del egoísmo de esos trabajadores», afirmó el director de mercadotecnia de Ryanair, Kenny Jacobs.
El grupo de presión Aerolíneas por Europa (A4E, sus siglas en inglés) aseguró que los viajeros se enfrentan a un «verano caótico» ante la convocatoria de ocho huelgas de controladores aéreos italianos y portugueses previstas para las próximas cuatro semanas.
Este grupo de presión volvió a instar a la Comisión Europea (CE) a que tome cartas en el asunto y permita, por ejemplo, que otros controladores aéreos europeos operen vuelos que atraviesen el espacio de un país en huelga.
