Un 16 de septiembre de 1916 nacía uno de los aeropuertos más concurridos del mundo, el Aeropuerto Internacional de Schiphol, en Amsterdam, Países Bajos
Lo que comenzó como una tira de hierba humilde hace un siglo se ha convertido en un centro masivo de transporte que conecta toda Europa. Mira esta representación hermosa que visualiza la evolución del Aeropuerto Schiphol en Amsterdam durante sus cien años de historia.
El aeropuerto internacional situado en Holanda abrió exactamente hace 100 años el 16 de septiembre de 1916 como una base militar en apoyo de la primera guerra mundial. Cuando terminó la guerra, el aeropuerto comenzó a ver a tantas operaciones civiles que en el momento de la Segunda Guerra Mundial ya no era una instalación militar.
En 1940, el aeropuerto fue capturado por el ejército alemán. Hacia el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el aeropuerto y sus cuatro pistas de aterrizaje fueron completamente destruidas por los bombardeos. En menos de diez años se reconstruyó y se le dio el nuevo nombre, el aeropuerto Schiphol de Amsterdam, y un objetivo de convertirse en el principal aeropuerto de los Países Bajos.
Con los años el aeropuerto ha visto una gran expansión y se ha convertido en el quinto aeropuerto más ocupado en Europa. La terminal de pasajeros se ha visto varias renovaciones y tiene una característica única para un gran aeropuerto como: Schiphol utiliza un concepto de un terminal en el que se encuentran todas las rampas de salida bajo un mismo techo que irradia de una plaza central. El aeropuerto también cuenta con una rampa de todo para la aviación general, un centro de museo, una biblioteca y un centro comercial.
Este largo del siglo transformación es bastante sorprendente para presenciar pero sólo podemos imaginar lo que vamos a ver en el siguiente vídeo de cien años a partir de hoy.

What started as a humble strip of grass a century ago has become a massive transportation hub connecting Europe. Look at this beautiful representation that displays the evolution of Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam during its hundred-year history.
The international airport in the Netherlands opened exactly 100 years ago on September 16, 1916 as a military base in support of the First World War. When the war ended, the airport began to see so many civilian operations that it was not at the time of World War II military installation.
In 1940, the airport was captured by the German army. Towards the end of World War II, the airport and its four runways were completely destroyed by bombing. In less than ten years it was rebuilt and was given the new name, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, and a goal to become the main airport of the Netherlands.
Over the years the airport has seen a major expansion and has become the fifth busiest airport in Europe. The passenger terminal has seen several renovations and has a unique feature for a major airport such as Schiphol uses a concept of a terminal in which are all exit ramps under one roof radiating from a central square. The airport also has a ramp for all general aviation museum center, a library and a shopping center.
Throughout the century this transformation is quite amazing to witness but we can only imagine what we will see in the following video a hundred years from today. A\W

Een 16 september 1917 werd geboren op een van de drukste luchthavens ter wereld, de internationale luchthaven van Schiphol in Amsterdam, Nederland
Wat begon als een bescheiden strook gras een eeuw geleden is uitgegroeid tot een enorme transport hub aansluiten van Europa. Kijk eens naar deze prachtige voorstelling die de evolutie van de luchthaven Schiphol in Amsterdam tijdens de honderd-jarige geschiedenis weergeeft.
De internationale luchthaven van Nederland geopend precies 100 jaar geleden, op 16 september 1916 als een militaire basis ter ondersteuning van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Toen de oorlog voorbij was, het vliegveld begon om zoveel civiele operaties dat het niet ten tijde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog militaire installatie te zien.
In 1940 werd het vliegveld veroverd door het Duitse leger. Tegen het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, werden de luchthaven en de vier banen volledig verwoest door bombardementen. In minder dan tien jaar werd het verbouwd en kreeg de nieuwe naam, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol en een doel om de belangrijkste luchthaven van Nederland te worden.
In de loop der jaren is de luchthaven een belangrijke uitbreiding heeft gezien en is uitgegroeid tot de vijfde drukste luchthaven in Europa. De passagiersterminal heeft diverse renovaties gezien en heeft een unieke eigenschap voor een grote luchthaven als Schiphol maakt gebruik van een concept van een terminal in die alle afritten onder één dak straalt uit een centraal plein. De luchthaven heeft ook een ramp voor alle algemene luchtvaart museum, een bibliotheek en een winkelcentrum.
Gedurende de eeuw deze transformatie is verbazingwekkend om te getuigen, maar we kunnen alleen maar voorstellen wat we honderd jaar zult zien in de volgende video van vandaag. A\W
