Del pedido original de 20 aeronaves B737-800 Next-Generation se incorporarán sólo nueve de ese modelo, ya que los once restantes serán B737-800Max, el nuevo producto de la firma con sede en Seattle, Estados Unidos.

La operación de los 20 B737-800 NG fue firmada por el entonces titular de Aerolíneas, Mariano Recalde, y según se informó en ese momento la operación suponía una inversión de 1.800 millones de dólares, previéndose el ingreso de los tres primeros aviones entre octubre y noviembre de este año.

El cambio del acuerdo tiene que ver con la mayor eficiencia y el ahorro que propone el nuevo modelo, ya que los 737 MAX incorporan motores de última tecnología y mayor potencia, como también puntas de ala de tecnología avanzada y otras mejoras.

En cuanto al consumo de combustible, el 737 MAX es un 14% más eficiente que el 737 Next-Generation actual, y 20% más que los primeros 737 Next-Generation.

Está previsto que el primer 737 MAX, que voló por primera vez a principios de este año, entre en servicio en 2017.

Desde la empresa indicaron a Télam que “de esta forma se terminó de renegociar un contrato que estaba en default, y por el cual se debían más de 200 millones de dólares a la fecha”.

China Airlines (CAL) ha recibido primero de 14 A350-900, convirtiéndose en la novena aerolínea en operar más nuevo y más eficiente de fuselaje ancho avión bimotor del mundo.

Inicialmente, el avión se desplegará en la ruta Taipei y Hong-Kong. Y, más tarde, el avión se desplegará en los vuelos de largo recorrido, a partir de Ámsterdam, seguido de Viena y Roma.

A350-900 de CAL está configurado con un diseño de tres clases de primera calidad con un total de 306 asientos, que comprende 32 en Premium Business, convertibles en posición plana totalmente camas, 31 en Premium Economy y 243 en la cabina principal.

El A350 XWB cuenta con el último diseño aerodinámico, el fuselaje y las alas de fibra de carbono, además de nuevos motores Rolls-Royce bajo consumo de combustible. En conjunto, estas últimas tecnologías se traducen en niveles sin precedentes de eficiencia operativa, con una reducción del 25 por ciento en el consumo de combustible y las emisiones, y significativamente más bajos costos de mantenimiento. La amplitud, la tranquilidad, la belleza interior y el estado de ánimo de iluminación en la cabina contribuyen a un nivel superior de comodidad y bienestar, estableciendo nuevos estándares en términos de experiencia de vuelo para todos los pasajeros.

Hasta la fecha, Airbus ha registrado un total de 810 pedidos en firme para el A350 XWB de 43 clientes en todo el mundo, por lo que es ya uno de los aviones de fuselaje ancho más exitoso de la historia.

China Airlines (CAL) has received first of 14 A350-900, becoming the ninth airline to operate the world’s newest and most efficient twin engine widebody airliner.

Initially, the aircraft will be deployed on the Taipei and Hong-Kong route. And, later, the aircraft will be deployed on long haul flights, starting with Amsterdam, followed by Vienna and Rome.
