El Archipiélago sumará en marzo de 2017 un total de 850 conexiones de avión directas con un centenar y medio de aeropuertos del mundo
Un total de 150 nuevas rutas aéreas regulares se habrán abierto en Canarias hasta marzo de 2017 y en el transcurso de tan solo un año. Estos datos, facilitados por Promotur Turismo de Canarias, muestran que con este incremento se alcanzará la cifra de 850 rutas regulares con 150 aeropuertos del mundo, lo cual revela el mayor nivel de conectividad del Archipiélago en toda su historia.
Para María Teresa Lorenzo, consejera de Turismo, Cultura y Deportes del Gobierno de Canarias, que la capacidad aérea en línea regular crezca en este periodo en casi 2,7 millones de plazas, más de un 17% interanual, refrenda el excelente trabajo que se ha venido realizando en el ámbito de la mejora de la conectividad. “No es únicamente resultado del excelente momento que vive el turismo en Canarias y el aumento de la demanda”, remarca, al tiempo que la atribuye a “una acertada política de diversificación de mercados y clientes”.
Otro aspecto de especial importancia según Lorenzo, es que, a pesar del Brexit, “las líneas aéreas no han dudado en aumentar capacidad e incluso establecer rutas nuevas desde Reino Unido, con lo que la capacidad aérea desde ese mercado sigue creciendo a un ritmo elevado, cercano al 30% y en invierno llegará al 38%”.
Las Palmas, más unida a Alemania
En la provincia de Las Palmas, a través de Gran Canaria y Lanzarote aumentan sobre todo las conexiones aéreas con Alemania. Por lo que respecta a Gran Canaria las conexiones con el país germano crecen gracias a compañías como Eurowings (Dusseldorf y Hamburgo), Germania (Hamburgo y Nuremberg), Sunexpress (Nuremberg), Norwegian (Colonia), Transavia (Múnich), (Dusseldorf) y Ryanair (Hamburgo y Berlín). Mientras que en Lanzarote tanto Germania (Bremen, Dresden, Muenster, Nuremberg y Rostock) como Sunexpress (que aterriza en la isla desde Colonia, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hannover, Munich, Paderborm y Stutgartt), además de Eurowings (Dusseldorf) y Ryanair (Berlín), aumentarán significativamente la capacidad aérea desde este mercado emisor. En Gran Canaria aumentan también las conexiones con Italia, un mercado que acarreaba un gran déficit de conectividad en el pasado. Así, estrena rutas regulares con Roma (operada por Norwegian) y con Milán (Ryanair y Vueling). LOT
Según datos de Promotur Turismo de Canarias, las nuevas líneas incluyen conexiones con mercados emergentes para el turismo canario, como Hungría y Rumanía, o de países en los que la falta de conectividad ha lastrado el desarrollo de los destinos canarios en esos mercados, como era el caso hasta ahora del francés, el italiano o el polaco. Dentro de las nuevas rutas sobresale la llegada a Canarias de la compañía italiana Alitalia, que comenzará a operar en el archipiélago por primera vez en la historia con dos vuelos semanales entre Tenerife Norte y Roma.
Además, entre la amplia relación de nuevas líneas y novedades para la conectividad de las islas destacan las nuevas conexiones de La Palma con Reino Unido, Alemania, Suiza y los países nórdicos, el establecimiento por parte de Norwegian de bases en Gran Canaria y Tenerife y las nuevas conexiones de Fuerteventura y Lanzarote con Budapest.
Por aeropuertos, el de Tenerife Sur, con el estreno de 42 nuevas rutas, es el que más nuevas conexiones aporta, seguido por el de Gran Canaria, con solo 2 menos. Lanzarote, con 31, y Fuerteventura, con 25, son los otros dos aeropuertos que más están viendo crecer sus conexiones. La Palma, con 9 nuevas rutas, y Tenerife, con 4, incluida la mencionada con destino a Roma, cierran el listado de los aeropuertos internacionales de las islas.
Las nuevas rutas conectan mejor Gran Canaria con Alemania, Italia, Amsterdam y Suiza. Tenerife por su parte ve mejoradas sus conexiones con ciudades españolas como Málaga, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Alicante, Santander y Valencia, así como las internacionales con Reino Unido.
