Atlantic Airways ha recibido el primer A320-200 tras la llegada de OY-RCJ (msn 7465) en Vágar el lunes 19 de diciembre. La aeronave es la única de Atlantic Airways del tipo de Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) y se une a su flota existente de dos A319-100.
Como tal, OY-RCJ se desplegará principalmente en la Vagar-Copenhague Kastrup ruta donde Atlantic Airways dice que ha visto un fuerte aumento de la demanda. También permitirá que el operador de las Islas Feroe compita más eficazmente con SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) una vez que entre en el mercado en marzo del próximo año, utilizando también una combinación de maquinaria A319 y A320.
Dadas las difíciles condiciones meteorológicas que se encontrará en el Atlántico Norte, el A320 cuenta con la capacidad de rendimiento de navegación requerida (RNP 0.1). Esto le permitirá volar con precisión rutas predefinidas utilizando sus sofisticados sistemas de navegación integrados. 
Faroe Islands’ Atlantic Airways adds maiden A320
Atlantic Airways has taken delivery of its first A320-200 following the arrival of OY-RCJ (msn 7465) in Vágar on Monday, December 19. The aircraft is Atlantic Airways’ only one of the type on order from Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and joins its existing fleet of two A319-100s.
As such, OY-RCJ will be deployed primarily on the Vagar-Copenhagen Kastrup route where Atlantic Airways says it has seen a strong surge in demand. It will also allow the Faroese operator to compete more effectively with SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) once it enters the market in March next year, also using a combination of A319 and A320 machinery.
Given the difficult weather conditions it will encounter in the North Atlantic, the A320 features Required Navigation Performance (RNP 0.1) capability. This will enable it to precisely fly predefined routes using its sophisticated on-board navigation systems. A\W
