El gobierno mexicano está promoviendo las iniciativas de conectividad aérea en Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Yucatan y Oaxaca para potenciar el incremento del turismo
El gobierno de México a cargo del Ministerio de Turismo (SECTUR), ha invertido $12 millones para realizar campañas de promoción de la mano del Consejo de Promoción Turística de México (CPTM).
Los gobiernos de los seis estados que integran el circuito del «Mundo Maya» y la aerolínea Aeromar firmaron un convenio para iniciar vuelos regionales a los destinos turísticos de Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Yucatán y Oaxaca.
El secretario de Turismo, Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, enfatizó que el gobierno federal 
desde la Sectur, “apoya este esfuerzo y seguramente los secretarios de turismo de los estados lo van a apoyar, porque en esta zona del país en donde hay tantas necesidades, una de las vocaciones naturales es el turismo como actividad económica para disminuir los rezagos sociales”. De la Madrid Cordero señaló que la firma de este convenio es muy importante, porque permitirá a través de la conectividad aérea, lograr que el turismo beneficie más a los mexicanos; “hay muchos temas en donde hay que ver a México de manera regional, pero sin duda uno de ellos es el turismo”. “Por eso es muy importante este convenio. Es un gran resultado de la sinergia del gobierno federal y estatales con el sector empresarial; le agradecemos a la línea aérea Aeromar su trabajo, su disposición y más que nada sus resultados. La 
conectividad es un tema que a todos nos compromete para trabajar. Yo siempre he dicho que nuestro reto es generar vuelos y ya que los generas nuestra tarea es llenarlos”.
De la Madrid Cordero, dijo que “una vez que las líneas aéreas se animan a abrir un vuelo, nuestra tarea, y concretamente del Consejo de Promoción Turística de México (CPTM), es la de apoyarlas a través de campañas de promoción en los mercados potenciales de Europa, Asía, Latinoamérica, Canadá y Estados Unidos.
El director general de Transportes de Aeromar, Andrés Fabre Robles, destacó que a lo largo de 30 años la aerolínea ha estado cumpliendo tres roles importantes de la aviación en México. Primero, interconectar ciudades que de otra manera no tendrían servicio aéreo con la ciudad de México, como Ixtepec o Monclova; segundo, conectar ciudades medias a través del aeropuerto de la Ciudad de México al mundo, y tercero la interconectividad de ciudades medias entre sí. “Y nos hemos sumado en algo que creemos fielmente que es el programa Viajemos Todos Por México (VTXM), una iniciativa de la Secretaría de Turismo del gobierno federal que estamos completamente convencidos y queremos asegurar que Aeromar es parte de esto”, expresó el ejecutivo de la aerolínea.
El secretario de Turismo de Yucatán, Saúl Ancona Salazar, indicó que es un desafío a nivel regional fortalecer la marca «Mundo Maya», mostrándose complacido con las autoridades que para alcanzar los objetivo planificados.
