Un vuelo de United Express de Chicago a Tennessee retoma por falta de logística

El vuelo UA5277 del 16 Octubre 2018 bajo la compañía fedeer SkyWest Airlines, socio de United Express, dio un giro inesperado luego de que la tripulación de vuelo informara a los 50 pasajeros que su avión tenía que efectuar el retorno al Aeropuerto Internacional O’Hare en Chicago por falta de apoyo logístico en el aeropuerto de llegada para el tipo de avión en el que volaban.

El comandante del Embraer E175 con 76 asientos había comunicado a los pasajeros que la aeronave era demasiado grande para aterrizar en Chattanooga. Los pasajeros habían sufrido un cambio de avión de último minuto antes del despegue inicial que se atribuyó a un problema mecánico. Los registros de FlightAware muestran que el avión despegó a las 02:45 pm y debía aterrizar en el Aeropuerto de Chattanooga Lovell Field. El Embraer E175 retornó aterrizando en Chicago a las 04:19 pm. Luego de una breve demora, se les dijo a los pasajeros que serían trasladados a un avión diferente.

El comunicado de la tripulación expresaba: «Lo sentimos por volver a Chicago. El Aeropuerto de Chattanooga no puede ayudarlo con los requisitos operativos en tierra para su tipo de aeronave actual. Le asignamos un nuevo avión a su vuelo». Los clientes fueron reubicados en otro vuelo con una aeronave diferente, un Bombardier CRJ-200 de 50 asientos.

Flight UA5277 on October 16, 2018 under United Airlines partner SkyWest Airlines, took an unexpected turn after the flight crew informed the 50 passengers that their plane had to return to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago for lack of logistical support at the airport of arrival for the type of aircraft in which they flew.

The commander of the Embraer E175 with 76 seats had informed the passengers that the aircraft was too big to land in Chattanooga. The passengers had undergone a last-minute change of aircraft before the initial takeoff that was attributed to a mechanical problem. FlightAware records show that the plane took off at 2:45 pm and had to land at Chattanooga Lovell Field Airport. The Embraer E175 returned landing in Chicago at 04:19 pm. After a brief delay, the passengers were told that they would be transferred to a different plane.

The crew statement stated: «We are sorry to return to Chicago, Chattanooga Airport can not help you with the ground operating requirements for your current aircraft type, we assign a new airplane to your flight». Customers were relocated on another flight with a different aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ-200 50 seats. A \ W
