El Aeropuerto Internacional Carrasco es el primero en Latinoamérica en incorporar identificación facial

El Ministerio de Defensa de Uruguay ha presentado el sistema de biometría facial en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco (AIC), el que se empleará durante el proceso de embarque, desde Migraciones hasta el ingreso al avión. El sistema de reconocimiento facial implica que los pasajeros no tienen necesidad de mostrar documentación. De esta manera la terminal se transforma en la primera de América Latina en contar con esta tecnología y en el quinto en el mundo. La nueva aplicación de identificación biométrica se aplicará para habilitar el acceso a los vuelos de la compañía Latam Airlines para posteriormente extenderse al resto de las aerolíneas.

Desarrollo tecnológico

El plan de desarrollo tecnológico implementado por el concesionario Easy Airport es parte de una iniciativa en conjunto con el Ministerio de Defensa, a través de la Dirección Nacional de Aviación Civil de Uruguay, y el Ministerio del Interior, a través de la Dirección Nacional de Migración, con el objetivo de alcanzar la automatización total de la terminal. Entre 2016 y 2018, bajo este mismo programa se instalaron pasarelas automáticas con tecnología biométrica para control migratorio en la zona de partidas y la de arribos, así como el chequeo automático de tarjetas de embarque con la instalación de cinco pasarelas de autoservicio.

Technological development
