Los prestamistas de Jet Airways pueden extender la fecha límite para la EoI hasta el 15 Enero 2020

El Comité de Acreedores de Jet Airways el Jueves 02/01 también discutió un acuerdo de solución con las autoridades holandesas por los activos de la aerolínea atrapados en Amsterdam. «Acordamos extender el plazo hasta el 15 Enero 2020. El RP recibió un correo del Grupo Hinduja», dijo una persona al tanto del desarrollo. Sin embargo, Ashish Chhawchharia, RP de Jet Airways, dijo que no ha recibido ninguna comunicación del grupo. El portavoz del Grupo Hinduja se negó a comentar sobre el asunto.
El mes pasado, el Comité Acreedores decidió pedir nuevas EoI después de que el Grupo Colombiano de Sinergy, que en ese momento era la única entidad interesada en revivir Jet Airways, no dio un plan comercial concreto después de más de cuatro meses de deliberaciones. El grupo había buscado la garantía del gobierno de los antiguos slots de Jet Airways en el Aeropuerto Heathrow de Londres y el Aeropuerto Schiphol de Amsterdam. El grupo aún no ha presentado ninguna EoI después de haber sido invitados el 22 Diciembre 2019.
En 2019 se entendió que el Grupo Hinduja estaba en conversaciones con el socio estratégico de Jet, Etihad Airways, antes de que la aerolínea con sede en Abu Dhabi se retirara. Después de esto, el Banco Estatal de India (SBI) inició un procedimiento de insolvencia contra Jet Airways. Turbo Aviation, una entidad con sede en Hyderabad, y otro fondo con sede en Dubai también habían mostrado interés en diciembre del año pasado. Turbo Aviation, actualmente dedicada a vuelos chárter y servicios de mantenimiento de aeronaves, cuenta con el respaldo de una entidad con sede en el Reino Unido. Los prestamistas también han estado tratando de resolver los problemas para llegar a un acuerdo con las autoridades holandesas sobre los activos de Jet Airways que están atrapados en Amsterdam. Los prestamistas también han estado discutiendo la monetización de la propiedad de Jet en el Complejo Bandra Kurla (BKC), Mumbai, pero no han llegado a un acuerdo sobre el asunto. HDFC había movido el año pasado al tribunal de insolvencia buscando mantener la propiedad fuera del proceso de resolución. El asunto está pendiente ante el Tribunal Nacional de Derecho de Sociedades (NCLT). “Surgieron muchos problemas con la venta de propiedades de BKC. Una cuestión clave es que todavía hay debate sobre si la propiedad forma parte del proceso de resolución de insolvencia corporativa”, dijo la fuente.
Jet Airways fue castigado en abril del año pasado y fue admitido por insolvencia en junio, luego de múltiples intentos fallidos de vender la aerolínea. Según los últimos datos disponibles en los sitios web de Jet, los acreedores han presentado reclamos por valor de más de Rs 36,000 millones de rupias con la aerolínea, de los cuales el RP hasta ahora ha admitido reclamos por valor de Rs 14,000 millones de rupias.

The Creditors Committee discusses an agreement with a deadline to send Expressions of Interest (EoI) for Jet Airways can be extended until January 15, 2020, to give potential bidders more time. The solution is also discussed with the Dutch authorities for the assets of the airline trapped in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Hinduja Group, which was previously understood to be interested in investing in the besieged airline, mailed to the Resolution Professional (RP) expressing its intention to look back at Jet Airways, bank sources said. The Jet Airways Creditors Committee on Thursday 02/01 also discussed a settlement agreement with the Dutch authorities for the airline’s assets trapped in Amsterdam. «We agreed to extend the deadline until January 15, 2020. The PR received an email from the Hinduja Group», said one person aware of the development. However, Ashish Chhawchharia, RP of Jet Airways, said he has not received any communication from the group. The Hinduja Group spokesman declined to comment on the matter.
Last month, the Creditors Committee decided to request new EoI after the Colombian Sinergy Group, which at that time was the only entity interested in reviving Jet Airways, did not give a concrete business plan after more than four months of deliberations. The group had sought government guarantee for the former Jet Airways slots at London Heathrow Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The group has not yet submitted any EoI after being invited on December 22, 2019.
In 2019 it was understood that the Hinduja Group was in talks with Jet’s strategic partner, Etihad Airways before the Abu Dhabi-based airline retired. After this, the State Bank of India (SBI) initiated an insolvency proceeding against Jet Airways. Turbo Aviation, a Hyderabad-based entity, and another Dubai-based fund had also shown interest in December last year. Turbo Aviation, currently dedicated to charter flights and aircraft maintenance services, is backed by an entity based in the United Kingdom. However, bankers do not trust any of these parties. «So far, nothing concrete has been received», said another person.
The lenders have also been trying to solve the problems to reach an agreement with the Dutch authorities on the assets of Jet Airways that are trapped in Amsterdam. Last year, Dutch authorities declared the airline bankrupt on land following the seizure of the Jet and two foreign operating creditors filed a complaint. The Dutch authorities have become part of the insolvency process in India.
The lenders have also been discussing the monetization of Jet’s property in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, but have not reached an agreement on the matter. HDFC had moved last year to the insolvency court seeking to keep the property out of the resolution process. The matter is pending before the National Court of Company Law (NCLT). “There were many problems with the sale of BKC properties. A key issue is that there is still debate over whether the property is part of the corporate insolvency resolution process”, said the source.
Jet Airways was punished in April of last year and was admitted for insolvency in June, after multiple failed attempts to sell the airline. According to the latest data available on Jet’s websites, creditors have filed claims worth more than Rs 36,000 crore with the airline, of which the PR has so far admitted claims worth Rs 14,000 crore.

जेट एयरवेज को पिछले साल के अप्रैल में दंडित किया गया था और एयरलाइन को बेचने के कई असफल प्रयासों के बाद जून में दिवालिया होने के लिए भर्ती कराया गया था। जेट की वेबसाइटों पर उपलब्ध नवीनतम आंकड़ों के अनुसार, लेनदारों ने एयरलाइन के साथ 36,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के दावे दर्ज किए हैं, जिनमें से पीआर ने अब तक 14,000 करोड़ रुपये के दावों को स्वीकार किया है।
