American Airlines incorpora nuevamente la Isla Gran Bahama a sus rutas

American Airlines ha relanzado vuelos diarios sin escalas entre Miami y Freeport, Gran Bahama en un paso importante para la recuperación del impacto del Huracán Dorian y el post-Dorian, sus consecuencias económicas de Gran Bahama. El coordinador de redesarrollo de Gran Bahama, Algernon Cargill, ha comunicado que el regreso de «los vuelos comerciales de American Airlines es un buen augurio para la isla. No hay nada que impida a ninguna aerolínea regresar a Abaco o Gran Bahama. Han cumplido todos los estándares internacionales».

The Grand Bahama redevelopment coordinator, Algernon Cargill, has announced that the return of «American Airlines commercial flights is a good omen for the island. There is nothing preventing any airline from returning to Abaco or Grand Bahama. They have all met international standards».

Both islands were devastated by Hurricane Dorian in September 2019, forcing airlines to suspend seasonal services. In a statement last Friday, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism said American Airlines is the fourth airline to relaunch commercial international flights to Grand Bahama since the hurricane.

SOME AIRLINES LIKE SUNWING AIRLINES HAVE RETURNED TO THE BAHAMAS ISLANDS

Bahamasair returned first with a special flight from the Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Tennessee on November 26, 2019; Sunwing Airlines returned on December 14, 2019, connecting Grand Bahama with Toronto and Montreal; and Silver Airways relaunched services between Freeport and Fort Lauderdale on December 19, 2019.

Bahamas Recovery

Grand Bahama has been experiencing a silent tourist recovery. Many of its hotels have already reopened, including the popular all-inclusive hotel Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach and Old Bahama Bay Resort, along with properties such as Ocean Reef Resort, Pelican Bay Hotel, Royal Islander, Castaway Resort and Suites, The Bell Channel Inn and Sunrise Resort and Suites, among others.
