Boeing pone en tierra a ocho aeronaves 787
The Boeing Company ha puesto a tierra un total de ochoaviones Boeing 787 Dreamliner actualmente en uso en tres aerolíneas diferentes después de encontrar fallas en el diseño de fabricación. “Boeing ha identificado dos problemas de fabricación distintos en la unión de ciertas secciones del fuselaje de popa del 787, que, en combinación, dan como resultado una condición que no cumple con nuestros estándares de diseño”, dijo Boeing en un comunicado. Los aviones afectados se someterán a una inspección y reparación de unión de partes del fuselaje. La compañía aeroespacial dijo que está llevando a cabo una revisión exhaustiva de la causa raíz del problema, particularmente para ver qué tan extendido está el problema. Actualmente existen casi 1.000 Boeing 787 que se han entregado a 69 aerolíneas diferentes en todo el mundo desde que inicio de su entrada en servicio en 2012.
Portavoces de United Airlines y Singapur Airlines confirmaron que cada aerolínea tenía uno de los ocho aviones afectados en su flota. Ambas aerolíneas dijeron que los aviones afectados no estaban en servicio cuando se descubrió el problema. La Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) dijo que estaba al tanto del problema con el Boeing 787 Dreamliner y “continuará trabajando estrechamente con (Boeing) en el futuro”.

The Boeing Company has grounded a total of eight Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft currently in use by three different airlines after finding manufacturing design flaws. “Boeing has identified two distinct manufacturing issues in the joining of certain sections of the 787’s aft fuselage, which, in combination, result in a condition that does not meet our design standards”, Boeing said in a statement. The affected aircraft will undergo an inspection and repair of joint parts of the fuselage. The aerospace company said it is conducting a comprehensive review of the root cause of the problem, particularly to see how widespread the problem is. There are currently almost 1,000 Boeing 787s that have been delivered to 69 different airlines around the world since its entry into service in 2012.
Spokespersons for United Airlines and Singapore Airlines confirmed that each airline had one of the eight affected aircraft in its fleet. Both airlines said the affected planes were not in service when the problem was discovered. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it was aware of the problem with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and “will continue to work closely with (Boeing) in the future”.
