En un 45% creció el aterrizaje de aerolíneas internacionales en Colombia
La descentralización del mercado aéreo internacional y la modernización de aeropuertos cuyas ciudades tienen atractivos turísticos y comerciales, como Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Cartagena y Barranquilla, han influido para que busquen aterrizar más aerolíneas internacionales en Colombia.
De acuerdo con registros de la Aeronáutica Civil, en los últimos 10 años hubo un aumento del 45 por ciento en el arribo de empresas de aviación comerciales extranjeras.
Mientras en el 2006 había 22 aerolíneas con alguna ruta comercial al país, concentradas en Bogotá, en agosto del presente año operaban 32 con rutas internacionales que llegan a otras ciudades como Cali.
Y ese incremento se presenta pese a que algunas empresas hace 10 años tenían rutas en el país y hoy ya no las tienen (como Air Madrid o Air Comet). En otros casos se han presentado fusiones, alianzas; han regresado, como la holandesa KLM –la más antigua del mundo y que tiene vuelos a Bogotá y Cali–, o han aparecido nuevas de mayor importancia, como Turkish Airlines, considerada una de las mejores aerolíneas de Europa y que comenzó a llegar a Bogotá. También Colombia se ha convertido en un destino atractivo para las aerolíneas de bajo costo como Jet Blue Airways Corporation.
“El tráfico aéreo global y el mercado positivo de Colombia, que es atractivo para la inversión y el turismo, han llevado a que lleguen nuevas aerolíneas que encuentran infraestructuras más adecuadas, con mejores plataformas y pistas para sus aterrizajes”, indicaron especialistas en el tema.
Viajeros internacionales
Al tiempo que han aumentado las aerolíneas extranjeras con destinos en pistas colombianas, también lo han hecho los pasajeros internacionales. La Aerocivil indicó que entre el 2005 y el 2015, los viajeros internacionales se incrementaron un 175 por ciento, al pasar de 4 millones que se movilizaban en el primer año a 11 millones el año pasado.
En el primer semestre del 2016, ese tipo de viajeros se incrementaron un 8,3 por ciento, impulsados principalmente por el crecimiento de las rutas a Estados Unidos, las cuales aumentaron el 10,29 por ciento entre enero y junio de este año. De igual forma, se incrementaron las rutas a Europa en un 12,3 por ciento, indica el reporte de la Aeronáutica Civil sobre el tema.
El incremento del tráfico de pasajeros aéreos internacionales es una tendencia mundial. La Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (Iata) señaló en uno de sus últimos informes que el número de estos viajeros subió 5,2 por ciento en junio pasado, frente al mismo mes del 2015. Y Latinoamérica encabezó las cifras, con un crecimiento del 8,8 por ciento.
