MALAYSIA AIRLINES MH-370

Un funcionario de Malasia informó este viernes que hasta ahora se han hallado 22 restos frente a las costas de Sudáfrica, Mozambique, Mauricio y Tanzania, de los cuales dos han sido confirmados y cuatro más es «casi seguro» que pertenezcan al vuelo MH370.

El ministro de Transporte de Malasia, Liow Tiong Lai, hizo las declaraciones un día después de que se confirmara que una pieza hallada en la isla de Pemba, frente a la costa de Tanzania, en junio de este año, era parte de una sección del flaperón del vuelo MH370 de Malaysia Airlines.

　 Liow dijo que la conclusión del jueves, junto con la confirmación del flaperón, hallado en la isla Reunión en julio del año pasado, podría ayudar a los investigadores a descubrir qué ocurrió en realidad al avión desaparecido, informó la agencia de noticias estatal de Malasia, Bernama.

　 Además de las dos piezas confirmadas y de las cuatro con altas probabilidades de pertenecer al vuelo desaparecido, Liow señaló que es difícil determinar el origen del resto porque carecen de número de serie y de otros detalles.

　 De acuerdo con un informe publicado en línea por el gobierno de Malasia en agosto, más de una decena de los artículos encontrados están «bajo evaluación.»

　 La Oficina de Seguridad en el Transporte de Australia indicó que el patrón de movimiento de los restos muestra que la operación de búsqueda estaba dentro del área correcta, agregó el ministro.

　 Hasta ahora, la búsqueda del avión desaparecido ha cubierto más de 110.000 kilómetros cuadrados en el sur del océano Indico, frente a la costa oeste de Australia.

　 Los gobiernos de Malasia, Australia y China anunciaron de manera conjunta en julio que la operación de búsqueda se suspendería cuando concluyera la búsqueda en el área actual, aunque prometieron reanudar la búsqueda si surgía nueva evidencia.

No Malaysian official said Friday that so far 22 remains have been found off the coast of South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius and Tanzania, two of which have been confirmed and four is «almost certain» that belong to flight MH370.

Transport Minister of Malaysia, Liow Tiong Lai, made the remarks a day after confirmation that one found on the island of Pemba, off the coast of Tanzania, in June this year, part was part of a section of flaperon flight MH370 of Malaysia Airlines.

So far, the search for the missing plane has covered more than 110,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean off the west coast of Australia.

The governments of Malaysia, Australia and China jointly announced in July that the search operation would be suspended when the search concluded in the current area, although they promised to resume the search if new evidence emerged. A\W
