Westjet es una low-cost canadiense que tiene una larga trayectoria en esta modalidad, pero las low cost de EEUU están finalmente llegando a Canadá

Cadadá es un país que ha tenido grandes transformaciones para bien en la aviación comercial y se ha sumado otra buena noticia, la incorporación de más vuelos low-cost desde EEUU hacia el país nórdico.

Otras aerolíneas low-cost como Zip y Canjet de Canadá no han podido continuar con el desarrollo de la expansión de los servicios aéreos de bajo costo.

Pero hay algo todavía que está costando trabajo, es seguir reduciendo el costo de los viajes en Canadá. En todo el mundo, se han lanzado nuevas líneas aéreas bajo el modelo de transportista de ultra bajo costo ULCC, (por sus siglas en inglés), que es un modelo de negocio completamente diferente al que la mayoría de la gente está acostumbrada. Esta es una modalidad de viaje «sin adornos». Se paga sólo por lo que se utiliza, que es simplemente perfecto para aquellos que quieren llegar a algún lugar por el precio más bajo. Muchos viajeros desean volar mucho más a menudo por menos.

La aerolínea estadounidense de ultra bajo costo Frontier Airlines anunció que comenzará a volar a Calgary en la primavera de 2018. Sólo para poner esto en contexto, actualmente ninguna de las tres principales ULCC en los Estados Unidos viaja a Canadá.

NEWLEAF SERVICES NETWORK OF CANADA

For many years Canada was the only developed country without an ULCC. However, recently, a ULCC launched in the west called NewLeaf began offering cheap flights to some cities.
