Las líneas aéreas han interrumpido los vuelos a Kusdistán

En una necesidad por mantener el control de los aeropuertos y mantener vuelos internacionales directos a Erbil International Airport (EIA) para combatir a los militantes islámicos.

La Autoridad de Aviación Civil iraquí envió un aviso el miércoles a compañías aéreas extranjeras diciéndoles que los vuelos internacionales a Erbil y Sulaymaniya en la región kurda se suspenderían el viernes a las 15:00 GMT y sólo se permitirían vuelos domésticos.

El parlamento iraquí ha dado un mandato a Haider al-Abadi para el despliegue de tropas en la disputada región petrolera de Kirkuk, después de que se pidiera a las tropas kurdas que se retiraran de las zonas impugnadas.

La aerolínea turca Pegasus anunció el miércoles que suspendería inmediatamente los vuelos a Erbil, la capital del Kurdistán iraquí. La aerolínea libanesa MEA y la aerolínea egipcia EgyptAir también anunciaron que suspenderían vuelos desde el viernes. «El último vuelo es el 29, hasta que resuelvan el problema», dijo el presidente de MEA, Mohammad al-Hout, a Reuters el miércoles.

La semana pasada Bagdad pidió a países extranjeros detener los vuelos directos a los aeropuertos internacionales de Erbil y Sulaymaniyah, en el territorio del KRG, pero sólo Irán declaró un embargo aéreo, deteniendo los vuelos directos al Kurdistán.

Turkish airline Pegasus announced Wednesday that it would immediately suspend flights to Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. Lebanese airline MEA and Egyptian airline EgyptAir also announced they would suspend flights from Friday. «The last flight is the 29th, until they solve the problem,» MEA president Mohammad al-Hout told Reuters on Wednesday.

Last week Baghdad called on foreign countries to stop direct flights to the international airports of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in the KRG territory, but only Iran declared an air embargo, stopping direct flights to Kurdistan. A \ W
