IATA augura crecimiento para las aerolíneas de América Latina en 2018
La industria aérea de América Latina obtendrá el próximo año un beneficio de U$D 900 millones de dólares, lo que representa un aumento del 28.6% frente a los 700 millones previstos para este ejercicio, según las previsiones presentadas este martes por la Asociación de Transporte Aéreo Internacional (IATA).
Las aerolíneas retendrán 3 dólares por pasajero transportado, indicó el vicepresidente regional para las Américas de la IATA, Peter Cerdá. Este monto es sin embargo muy inferior al rendimiento de 16 dólares por pasajero que obtienen las aerolíneas estadounidenses. La demanda de pasajeros crecerá un 8% en 2018, superando el crecimiento del 7.5 % de la capacidad previsto.
Región Latinoamérica
La región se acerca a 2018 “con el impulso dado por una recuperación moderada en la economía brasileña, un crecimiento razonable en México y un dólar estadounidense más débil durante el año pasado”, indica la IATA. No obstante, la región “aún tiene que hacer mucho para que la aviación pueda crecer sin obstáculos”, dijo Peter Cerdá.
El vicepresidente regional para las Américas de la IATA se refirió sobre todo a regulaciones poco transparentes o “no ortodoxas”, como en Brasil, que aplica una política de combustible que aumenta los costos para las aerolíneas en unos U$D 600 millones de dólares al año, y medidas que castigan a las líneas aéreas por retrasos o cancelaciones incluso cuando las razones y los hechos escapan a las compañías.
