The Canadian regional airline West Wind had an air accident with an ATR 42
The ATR 42-300 hit the ground shortly after takeoff in Fond-du-Lac, Canada, on December 13, 2017. An ATR-42-300 registration C-GWEA of the manufacturer Avions of Regional Transport of the regional airline West Wind Aviation made flight WEW-280 from Fond-du-Lac, to Stony Rapids, SK (Canada) with 22 passengers and 3 crew, It took off from Fond-du-Lac at approximately 18:15L (00: 15Z on December 14) when the plane lost altitude and ground impacting approximately 1 km beyond the runway. All occupants survived, there is a series of serious and minor injuries, the plane suffered substantial damage. The Canadian TSB has sent researchers to the site. On December 14, 2017, the TSB reported that both the flight data and the cockpit voice recorder are sent to the TSB laboratory in Ottawa.
