La Justicia de Uruguay se expidió sobre el caso PLUNA
El proceso de la quiebra de la aerolínea uruguaya PLUNA, desde el cierre de sus operaciones en 2012 hasta la fecha con la sentencia de la jueza María Helena Mainard, realizada en estos días, han traído sentencias judiciales al caso.
La Justicia uruguaya condenó por delito de abuso de funciones al ex-Presidente del Banco República (BROU), Fernando Calloia y absolvió al ex-Ministro de Economía, Fernando Lorenzo.
Los motivos que llevaron a la quiebra inducida de PLUNA radican en la venta de la flota de aeronaves y el papel del empresario Juan Carlos López Mena. El empresario argentino-uruguayo reclama que el Banco República le devuelva el dinero pago por el aval del remate de PLUNA. En 2014 había hecho un acuerdo con el gobierno de Uruguay para hacerse cargo de esa deuda, asumida por la empresa de origen español Cosmo Líneas Aéreas SL, cuyo representante ofertó en un remate por los aviones de la ex-aerolínea de bandera, pero nunca inyectó el dinero. López Mena reclama en la demanda que el BROU le devuelva el dinero abonado con intereses, y le pague U$D 1 millón de dólares por daños y perjuicios. Queda expuesto el aval del Banco República para la participación de una empresa en el remate y las derivaciones sobre si hubo o no abuso de funciones.
La Justicia uruguaya se pronunció sobre el aval que otorgó el Banco República a la empresa española Cosmo Líneas Aéreas SL para participar del remate de los siete aviones de la aerolínea uruguaya. El ex-Presidente del banco, Fernando Calloia, fue condenado con una pena de 20 meses de prisión, inhabilitación especial por dos años, y una multa de 1.000 unidades reajustables. No irá a prisión por ser primario, procesado sin prisión, por un delito excarcelable. Por su parte, el ex-Ministro de Econamía Fernando Lorenzo fue absuelto.
El Parlamento de Uruguay aprobó el cierre de PLUNA Líneas Aéreas Ente Autónomo, para el próximo 31 de Diciembre 2017. El caso PLUNA todavía sigue abierto, pero sus alas quedarán en el recuerdo colectivo de los uruguayos.
