El Aeropuerto El Palomar de Argentina reacondiciona tecnología ILS para evitar cancelaciones
El reacondicionamiento del equipo de ILS permite operar con precisión en situaciones de poca visibilidad. El Aeropuerto de El Palomar, hasta el momento sólo utilizado por la low cost Flybondi Líneas Aéreas, verá reducidas sus cancelaciones cuando las condiciones meteorológicas sean adversas, gracias al reacondicionamiento del equipo de ILS, Sistema Instrumental de Aterrizaje (Instrument Landing System). Es un sistema de radionavegación que permite a los aviones aproximarse a la pista de aterrizaje en condiciones en las que no hay visibilidad o la visibilidad es limitada. Cuando hay baja visibilidad el piloto es guiado por diversos instrumentos tanto de la aeronave como del aeropuerto, que trabajan en conjunto en esa asistencia permitiendo que el avión sea guiado con precisión durante la aproximación a la pista de aterrizaje.
El ILS fue reacondicionado cuando se inauguró la nueva terminal; ahora y gracias a la última modificación realizada en uno de los elementos que lo componen, la visibilidad pasó de 2.700 metros a 1.400 metros, lo que implica poder operar en condiciones más adversas.
El Aeropuerto El Palomar, desde la inauguración el 9 Febrero de 2018 pudo transportar unos 280 mil pasajeros en 2.300 vuelos. El crecimiento de viajeros para este primer aeropuerto low cost del país llevó a la necesidad de ampliar la terminal, sumando dos nuevas puertas de embarque que se encuentran funcionando desde mediados de julio.
Al mismo tiempo comenzaron las obras para construir un nuevo sector internacional que incluirá un control de PSA, tres nuevos check in, un sector de Aduana y otro de Migraciones. Las obras terminarán a fines de octubre, para que a partir de noviembre hayan vuelos regionales e internacionales.

The ILS was reconditioned when the new terminal was inaugurated; now and thanks to the last modification made in one of the elements that compose it, the visibility went from 2,700 meters to 1,400 meters, which implies being able to operate in more adverse conditions.
El Palomar Airport, since the inauguration on February 9, 2018, was able to transport 280 thousand passengers in 2,300 flights.
