Habilitan oficinas aerolíneas en Aeropuerto Palmerola
Las compañías aéreas American Airlines y Avianca ya están habilitando sus oficinas en la terminal aeroportuaria del Aeropuerto Internacional Palmerola/MHSC/XPL, Honduras, según ha informado este Martes 15/09 el Director de la División de Aeropuertos del Grupo Emco y representante de Palmerola International Airport (PIA), Peter Fleming. Ambas compañías, al igual que United Airlines y Copa Airlines, que también operarán desde la terminal ubicada en Comayagua, ya tienen frecuencias operando en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Toncontín, de Tegucigalpa. Recientemente, autoridades aeroportuarias oficializaron el arribo de Aeroméxico a esta terminal ubicada en el centro de la República de Honduras, donde iniciará operaciones a partir del 1 de Diciembre de 2021.
Se han hecho entrega de varios locales comerciales para su adecuación. Actualmente se está negociando con otras líneas aéreas para abrir nuevas rutas desde Palmerola, cuya apertura está programada para el próximo 15 de Octubre de 2021. “Nosotros estamos en un plan muy agresivo a nivel internacional, buscando nuevas líneas aéreas de diferentes rutas y diferentes destinos e incluso Suramérica y algunos en Europa. Queremos comenzar a buscar nuevos operadores. Podemos seguir garantizando más conectividad, vuelos directos sin puntos de escala”, indicó Peter Fleming.
El Presidente de la Cámara Nacional de Turismo de Honduras (Canaturh), Epaminondas Marinakys, indicó que entre las compañías que ya han confirmado su operatividad desde Palmerola están incluidas las que ya operaban en Toncontín, en la capital del país, y unas nuevas que actualmente están volando a San Pedro Sula, pero no conectaban a Tegucigalpa. Las aerolíneas Spirit Airlines y Aeroméxico, las que anteriormente tenían frecuencias operando desde el Aeropuerto Ramón Villeda Morales, zona norte del país, San Pedro Sula y ampliando a Palmerola permitiendo incorporar frecuencias adicionales Aeroméxico (3Frq/S) y Spirit Airlines (3Frq/S). Otra compañía de bajo costo que confirmó su ingreso al mercado hondureño es Volaris Airlines, que según su presidente y director general, Enrique Beltranena, inicialmente operará la ruta San Salvador—San Pedro Sula, con vuelos en conexión a Centroamérica, Washington D.C., Nueva York y Los Ángeles en Estados Unidos.
