Argentina modifica propuesta vuelos humanitarios a Malvinas
La Cancillería Argentina ha comunicado el ofrecimiento de los vuelos humanitarios entre el archipiélago de las Islas Malvinas y Chile, permitiendo así el traslado de ciudadanos chilenos al país trasandino. Después de que el Reino Unido rechazara la propuesta de Argentina para enviar dos vuelos humanitarios directos desde Argentina a Malvinas, desde Cancillería insisten con esta iniciativa y proponen que los aviones realicen el puente aéreo Malvinas-Chile.
“Habiendo tomado conocimiento de que la mayor parte de los residentes de las Islas Malvinas que necesitan contar con un servicio aéreo al continente son de origen chileno, el gobierno argentino ofreció que en su viaje de regreso al continente, los vuelos puedan dirigirse directamente al aeropuerto de Punta Arenas o algún otro aeropuerto alternativo en Chile. Esta propuesta toma en cuenta que en la actualidad existen restricciones en los pasos fronterizos con Chile”, expresa el comunicado emitido este Sábado 11/12 por Cancillería. Desde la cartera conducida por Santiago Cafiero comunicaron que esta iniciativa se basa en una recomendación del Consejo Nacional Malvinas que busca contribuir a superar las consecuencias negativas producidas por la pandemia. El Foreign Office, la cancillería británica, ha recibido la propuesta siendo remitida a las autoridades isleñas para su consideración.
La Administración de Boris Johnson, Primer Ministro británico, había expresado su negativa a la oferta inicial del Gobierno argentino y propuesto, en su lugar, “fletar un vuelo chárter desde las Islas Mavinas/Falklands Islands hacia Chile, con regreso a principios del año próximo. El FIG (Falkland Islands Government) desea ayudar a la gente a viajar para visitar a sus familias durante las Navidades, por lo que ha pedido al Gobierno de Argentina que le permita fletar un vuelo chárter desde las Falklands a Chile, con regreso a principios del año próximo. El FIG correrá con los gastos de estos vuelos”, expresaron desde el Gobierno de Malvinas.
Argentina había propuesto la realización de dos vuelos que se llevarían a cabo en los meses de Diciembre 2021 y Enero 2022, desde el territorio continental argentino a las Islas Malvinas, con aeronaves de Aerolíneas Argentinas. “La propuesta busca superar las consecuencias producidas por el Coronavirus y también estimular un contexto de mayor confianza con los habitantes de las Islas, en el marco de lo establecido por la Constitución Nacional en la Disposición Transitoria Primera en lo referido al respeto de su modo de vida”, habían señalado desde la Cancillería Argentina en un comunicado oficial.

Argentina modifies humanitarian flights proposal to Malvinas
The Argentine Foreign Ministry has communicated the offer of humanitarian flights between the archipelago of the Malvinas Islands and Chile, thus allowing the transfer of Chilean citizens to the trans-Andean country. After the United Kingdom rejected Argentina’s proposal to send two direct humanitarian flights from Argentina to Malvinas, the Foreign Ministry insisted on this initiative and proposed that the planes carry out the Malvinas-Chile airlift.
“Having learned that most of the residents of the Falkland Islands who need an air service to the continent are of Chilean origin, the Argentine government offered that on their return trip to the continent, the flights could go directly to the airport from Punta Arenas or some other alternative airport in Chile. This proposal takes into account that there are currently restrictions on border crossings with Chile”, says the statement issued this Saturday, 12/11 by the Foreign Ministry. From the portfolio led by Santiago Cafiero they reported that this initiative is based on a recommendation from the Malvinas National Council that seeks to help overcome the negative consequences produced by the pandemic. The Foreign Office, the British Chancellery, has received the proposal and is forwarded to the island authorities for their consideration.
The Administration of Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister, had expressed its refusal to the initial offer of the Argentine Government and proposed, instead, “to charter a charter flight from the Mavinas Islands/Falklands Islands to Chile, with return early next year. The FIG (Falkland Islands Government) wants to help people travel to visit their families during Christmas, so it has asked the Government of Argentina to allow it to charter a charter flight from the Falklands to Chile, with return at the beginning of the next year. The FIG will bear the expenses of these flights”, they expressed from the Government of Malvinas.
Argentina had proposed the realization of two flights that would be carried out in the months of December 2021 and January 2022, from the Argentine mainland to the Falkland Islands, with Aerolineas Argentinas aircraft. “The proposal seeks to overcome the consequences produced by the Coronavirus and also stimulate a context of greater trust with the inhabitants of the Islands, within the framework of what is established by the National Constitution in the First Transitory Provision regarding respect for their mode of life”, they had indicated from the Argentine Foreign Ministry in an official statement.
