LATAM Airlines selecciona al Airbus A321XLR

LATAM Airlines Chile se convertirá en el tercer cliente latinoamericano del Airbus A321XLR (Ultra Long Range). La aerolínea sudamericana adquirirá cinco unidades (5) de este tipo a Air Lease Corporation (ALC). De esta manera, la aerolínea de capitales chileno-brasileño modernizará parcialmente sus recursos, reemplazando al envejecido Boeing 767-300.

LATAM Airlines Chile ha anunciado una asociación con Air Lease Corporation, uno de los arrendadores más importantes de aviones de pasajeros. Como parte del acuerdo, la filial chilena adquirirá cinco aviones Airbus A321XLR (5) de nueva generación, convirtiéndose así en el tercer usuario de este modelo en Latinoamérica, después de JetSMART Airlines y Sky Airline. El primer avión Airbus A321XLR llegará a Chile a fines de 2025, y el último en 2026.

LATAM Airlines continúa modernizando su flota de aviones gracias a las tecnologías avanzadas, aumentará la eficiencia de las operaciones de vuelo y mejorará la comodidad de los pasajeros. «Los cinco nuevos aviones Airbus A321XLR permitirán a la aerolínea optimizar su red de rutas internacionales y desarrollarse en algunas de las rutas menos concurridas», dijo Steven Udvar Házy, CEO de Air Lease Corporation.

El Airbus A321XLR tiene un alcance extendido de hasta 8.700 kilómetros, lo que permite a m.in utilizar el avión para operar rutas de larga distancia menos populares desde América del Sur a Portugal y los Estados Unidos, donde actualmente vuelan los viejos Boeing 767-300. Se espera que la producción de la versión XLR comience en dos años vista.

LATAM Airlines Chile will become the third Latin American customer of the Airbus A321XLR (Ultra Long Range). The South American airline will acquire five units (5) of this type from Air Lease Corporation (ALC). In this way, the Chilean-Brazilian capital airline will partially modernize its resources, replacing the aging Boeing 767-300.

LATAM Airlines Chile has announced a partnership with Air Lease Corporation, one of the most important lessors of passenger aircraft. As part of the agreement, the Chilean subsidiary will acquire five new generation Airbus A321XLR (5) aircraft, thus becoming the third user of this model in Latin America, after JetSMART Airlines and Sky Airline. The first Airbus A321XLR aircraft will arrive in Chile at the end of 2025, and the last in 2026.

LATAM Airlines continues to modernize its aircraft fleet thanks to advanced technologies, it will increase the efficiency of flight operations and improve passenger comfort. «The five new Airbus A321XLR aircraft will allow the airline to optimize its international route network and develop on some of the less busy routes», said Steven Udvar Házy, CEO of Air Lease Corporation.

The Airbus A321XLR has an extended range of up to 8,700 kilometers, allowing m.in to use the aircraft to operate less popular long-haul routes from South America to Portugal and the United States, where older Boeing 767-300s currently fly production of the XLR version is expected to start in two years.
