Cayman Airways comenzará una modernización de la flota en el cuarto trimestre con la entrega de una nueva generación de Boeing 737-800, seguido de la introducción gradual de cuatro Boeing 737 Max 8 aeronaves entre 2018 y 2020. La aerolínea planea retirarse de toda su flota de 122 Boeing 737-300 con capacidad para 2020.
«La adquisición exitosa de los Boeing 737-300 en 2014 fue el primer paso de nuestro plan de flota de la modernización, hecho con el entendimiento de que los aviones que sólo se utiliza durante 3-5 años más», declaró el presidente Felipe Cayman Airways Rankin.
Rankin dijo que el 737 Max 8 aviones tendrá «drásticamente más bajos costos de operación que aviones Boeing 737-300 de la aerolínea ya existente, pero vienen con el beneficio adicional de un 30% más capacidad de asientos.»

Cayman Airways getting new planes
Cayman Airways will start a fleet modernization in the fourth quarter with the delivery of a next-generation Boeing 737-800, followed by the phased introduction of four Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft between 2018 and 2020. The airline plans to retire its entire fleet of 122-seat Boeing 737-300s by 2020.
“The successful purchase of the Boeing 737-300s in 2014 was the first step of our fleet-modernization plan, done with the understanding that that those aircraft would only be used for 3-5 more years,” stated Cayman Airways chairman Philip Rankin.
Rankin said the 737 Max 8 aircraft will have «drastically lower operating costs than the airline’s existing Boeing 737-300 aircraft, but come with the added benefit of 30% more seating capacity.» Cayman Airways intends to equip each 737 Max 8 aircraft with WiFi, in-flight entertainment and seat power. In the U.S., Cayman Airways flies to Miami, New York, Tampa, Chicago and Dallas.
