Los pilotos de un Boeing de pasajeros que volaba de Francia a Kuwait 15 horas después de la catástrofe del A320 de EgyptAir dejaron de responder a los controladores de vuelo de Italia y Grecia, presumiblemente porque se quedaron dormidos, según apunta una fuente de RIA Novosti.
Esta versión indica que varios cazas militares griegos despegaron de emergencia al encuentro de ese avión por el temor a que se tratase de una acto terrorista.
Cuando el avión sobrevoló Croacia y Albania «los controladores aéreos de Italia dejaron de recibir respuesta de los pilotos» y, después de que el aparato abandonara el espacio aéreo italiano (FIR), «los controladores griegos tampoco obtuvieron respuesta», por lo que Grecia declaró el estado de emergencia y envió «dos cazas F-16″ al encuentro del Boeing», ha detallado la fuente.

Two fighter jets intercepted a US passenger plane heading for the Middle East just hours after doomed EgyptAir flight MS804 vanished off the radar, according to reports.
The Greek F16 planes were scrambled after a Delta Airlines flight strayed into the country’s airspace over the Mediterranean sea and the pilots failed to identify themselves.
The passenger jet first appeared on radar at 7.10pm but failed to respond to frantic calls from aviation officials.
The F16s were then dispatched at 7.28pm and intercepted the Delta plane seven miles off the popular holiday island of Santorini.
At this point the pilot reportedly identified himself.
It is not known why the crew waited until fighter jets had been dispatched to make contact with officials.
According to the Daily Star a Delta Airlines spokesman said: «While transiting to Greek airspace, the flight crew of Delta flight 8957, a charter operation from Hahn, Germany to Kuwait, was unable to establish radio communications with Greek air traffic control for a short period.
«This occurred during a handoff between air traffic control agencies and communications were expeditiously reestablished.
«At no point did the Boeing 767-400ER leave its planned route of flight.»
The incident came just hours after Egyptair flight MS 804 crashed killing 66 people -including one child and two infants, seven crew members and three security personnel.
The flight lost communication with the radar tracking system after flying 10 miles into Egyptian airspace, at around 4.30am GMT.
Search vessels have since found human remains and belongings north of the Egyptian port Alexandria. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
