La aerolínea vietnamita VietJet acordó hoy la compra de 100 aviones Boeing 737 Max 200 con el fabricante estadounidense, una adquisición estimada en unos 10.070 millones de euros (11.300 millones de dólares).
A la firma del acuerdo asistieron en calidad de testigos el presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, quien llegó ayer a Vietnam en una visita oficial de tres días, y su homólogo vietnamita Tran Dai Quang, según un comunicado remitido por la compañía aérea.
El consejero delegado de VietJet, Nguyen Thi Puong Thao, resaltó que la compra se debe a la estrategia de crecimiento internacional en las rutas de la aerolínea de bajo coste, incluidos trayectos de largo recorrido.
«A través de este acuerdo, VietJet contribuye a aumentar el volumen del comercio bilateral entre Vietnam y Estados Unidos, así como la integración y el desarrollo de la industria de la aviación en Vietnam», indicó Thao.
A la ceremonia de la firma, celebrada hoy en el Palacio Presidencial de Hanoi, también asistió el consejero delegado del fabricante estadounidense, Ray Conner. La entrega del centenar de aviones está prevista entre 2019 y 2023.

The device is a high-density version of the 737 MAX 8 with the capacity to take 200 passengers in single class. To get there, Boeing took the surface on the space plane kitchen.
