El primer Airbus A330-200 de RwandAir, debido para entrega en septiembre de este año, ha llevado a los cielos en busca de sus primeros vuelos de ayer, después de las pruebas en tierra con éxito en las instalaciones de ensamblaje de Airbus en Toulouse.

El avión, que ya ha sido nombrado ‘Ubumwe’, sostiene el número de producción MSN 1741 y actualmente se ha registrado como F-WWKS pero será en la entrega puede poner en el registro CAA Ruanda como 9XR-WN.

Tras el primer vuelo, las pruebas de antena adicional se lleva a cabo para asegurar que todos los sistemas están listos cuando el 29 de septiembre que comenzará su viaje al centro de operaciones de la aerolínea en Kigali.

Un segundo, más grande Airbus A330-300 es debido a continuación para la entrega a finales de noviembre, nombrado ‘Murage’ y el montaje se iniciará en el momento oportuno también en Toulouse como MSN 1759.

RwandAir’s first Airbus A330-200, due for delivery in September this year, has taken to the skies for its maiden flights yesterday, following successful ground tests at the Airbus assembly facility in Toulouse.

The aircraft, which has already been named ‘Ubumwe’, holds the production number MSN 1741 and is presently registered as F-WWKS but will on delivery be put on the Rwandan CAA registry as 9XR-WN.

A third Boeing B737-800NG will join RwandAir’s fleet in October this year, taking the number of aircraft owned and operated to double digit numbers for the first time in the airline’s history.
