La policía militar holandesa y la alcaldía de Haarlemmermeer anunciaron que prolongarán los controles de seguridad realizados por militares alrededor del aeropuerto internacional de Schiphol, cercano a Amsterdam. Estas medidas fueron implantadas el pasado 30 de julio, cuando Holanda recibió una alerta «relacionada con el aeropuerto» de la que no se precisaron más detalles, según la agencia holandesa.
«Todavía no podemos revelar la información que tenemos», declaró el alcalde de Haarlemmermeer, Adam Elzakalai, quien lo argumentó a partir del deber de proteger a las fuentes y de asegurar su «posición de información».
La decisión de prolongar esta medida fue tomada por el triángulo que forman el alcalde de este municipio situado en la provincia de Holanda Septentrional, el fiscal jefe y la gendarmería de Haarlemmermeer y consultada con el coordinador nacional para Antiterrorismo y Política de Seguridad.
