El Aeropuerto de Londres Heathrow, o simplemente Heathrow, cada año recibe más tráfico internacional de pasajeros que cualquier otro aeropuerto en el mundo, sumando un 30 por ciento más de viajeros que el Charles de Gaulle de París o el Internacional de Fráncfort de Alemania. Se encuentra en Heathrow, en el distrito de Hillingdon, en el área oeste de Londres.

British Airways (BA), por su parte, es la aerolínea de bandera del Reino Unido. Con sede en Waterside, cerca de Heathrow, opera aproximadamente 150 destinos y es una de las nueve únicas aerolíneas del mundo que vuela a los cinco continentes habilitados.

Hace cinco años se fusionó con Iberia y de la unión comercial surgió la tercera mayor aerolínea del mundo en términos de ingresos anuales y el segundo mayor grupo de Europa.

Cotiza en la Bolsa de Londres y es uno de los papeles principales del índice bursatil de la Gran Bretaña bajo el título de International Airlines Group.
