El Boeing 737-9 MAX realiza su vuelo inaugural desde Boeing Field,

El primer vuelo del Boeing 737-9 MAX de Boeing despegó a las 10:52 de la mañana del jueves, pilotado por el capitán Christine Walsh, capitán del equipo de pruebas de Boeing, y se dirigió hacia el norte por el lago Washington hacia cielos parcialmente nublados.
El avión, que salió de la fábrica de Boeing Renton el 7 de marzo, voló durante varias horas y luego aterrizó en Boeing Field para continuar las pruebas.
El domingo marcó el 50 aniversario del primer vuelo del Boeing 737 original, el Boeing 737-100.
La versión MAX 9 sigue al MAX 8, que por el mes próximo se espera que sea entregado a su primer cliente.
El modelo MAX 9 es casi 9 pies más largo que el MAX 8’s, 129 pies 8 pulgadas, y lleva 178 pasajeros en dos clases en comparación con el MAX 8’s 162 en una configuración similar.
El mes pasado, Boeing también afirmó su intención de lanzar una variante ligeramente más grande de MAX 10, con capacidad de alrededor de 188 pasajeros en dos clases, con el objetivo de competir mejor con el Airbus A321NEO.
La nueva familia 737 MAX de Boeing se sitúa muy atrás de la nueva familia A320NEO de Airbus. Con casi 1.400 pedidos para el A321NEO solo, Airbus tiene un total de poco más de 5.000 NEO’s pedidos, en comparación con unos 3.600 MAX’s.
Boeing no saca sus ventas MAX por modelo, pero está claro que el MAX 9 ha vendido mal en comparación con el A321NEO. Algunos compradores de aviones han dicho que la perspectiva de un MAX 10 ha nublado la imagen para el MAX 9.

The first flight of Boeing 737-9 MAX took off at 10:52 a.m. Thursday, piloted by Boeing chief deputy test pilot Capt. Christine Walsh, and headed north over Lake Washington into partly cloudy skies.
The plane, which left the Boeing Renton plant on March 7, flew for several hours and then landed at Boeing Field to continue testing.
Sunday marked the 50th anniversary of the original 737’s first flight, the Boeing 737-100.
This version follows the MAX 8, which by next month is expected to be delivered to its first airline customer.

The MAX 9 model is almost 9 feet longer than the MAX 8’s 129 feet 8 inches, and it carries 178 passengers in two classes compared with the MAX 8’s 162 in a similar configuration.
Boeing last month also affirmed its intention to launch a slightly larger MAX 10 variant — seating around 188 passengers In two classes — with the aim of better competing with the Airbus A321NEO.
Boeing’s new 737 MAX family as a whole trails well behind Airbus’ new A320NEO family. With almost 1,400 orders for the A321NEO alone, Airbus has a total of just over 5,000 NEO’s ordered, compared with about 3,600 MAX’s.
Boeing does not break out its MAX sales by model, but it’s clear the MAX 9 has sold poorly compared to the A321NEO. Some airplane buyers have said the prospect of a MAX 10 has clouded the picture for the MAX 9. A\W
