La Autoridad de Aviación Civil de Tailandia (CAAT) acordó permitir a las aerolíneas requeridas detener los vuelos internacionales durante la reevaluación de la bandera roja de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (OACI) el próximo mes para operar un vuelo doméstico adicional por día por ruta hasta enero.

El director del CAAT, Chula Sukmanop, dijo ayer que la medida es para ayudar a las aerolíneas que necesitarán detener temporalmente la operación de vuelos internacionales desde el 1 de septiembre debido a que aún no se han emitido los Certificados de Operador Aéreo (Re-AOC). Esas aerolíneas tienen que pasar una inspección de la norma de seguridad de la OACI que se llevará a cabo alrededor de la tercera semana del próximo mes.

El comité de CAAT, presidida por el Ministro de Transporte, Arkhom Termpittayapaisith expresó que las solicitudes para operar un vuelo doméstico adicional por ruta por día deben cumplir con las regulaciones de la CAAT que estipulan que sólo tres compañías aéreas pueden operar desde pequeños aeropuertos.

Hasta el momento, Asia Atlantic Airlines, Thai VietJet Air y Orient Thai Airlines han presentado solicitudes a la agencia. Sin embargo, si las compañías aéreas reciben sus Re-AOC a tiempo, se les permitirá reanudar rutas internacionales inmediatamente.

Las aerolíneas que ya han vendido ticket para después del 1 de septiembre, pero que están obligadas a cancelar vuelos tienen que encontrar otros vuelos para sus pasajeros. Nueve de las 21 compañías aéreas sin certificados recibirán Re-AOC este mes.

Por otro lado la CAAT ha acordado reducir las tarifas de estacionamiento de aviones en 38 aeropuertos bajo la supervisión del Departamento de Aeropuertos. «Esta fue otra medida para ayudar a absorber los gastos de las aerolíneas no autorizadas a operar vuelos internacionales durante la inspección de la OACI», dijo Chula Sukmanop.

The Thai Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) agreed to allow the required airlines to stop international flights during the re-evaluation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) red flag next month to operate an additional domestic flight per day per route until January.

CAAT director Chula Sukmanop said yesterday that the measure is to help airlines that will need to temporarily stop the operation of international flights since 1 September because Air Operator Certificates have not yet been issued (Re-AOC). These airlines have to pass an inspection of the ICAO safety standard that will take place around the third week of next month.

The CAAT committee chaired by Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said that requests to operate an additional domestic flight by route per day must comply with CAAT regulations stipulating that only three airlines can operate from small airports.

So far, Asia Atlantic Airlines, Thai VietJet Air and Orient Thai Airlines have submitted applications to the agency. However, if airlines receive their Re-AOC on time, they will be allowed to resume international routes immediately.

Airlines that have already sold tickets after September 1 but are obliged to cancel flights have to find other flights for their passengers. Nine of the 21 uncertified airlines will receive Re-AOC this month.

On the other hand, CAAT has agreed to reduce aircraft parking rates at 38 airports under the supervision of the Airports Department. «This was another measure to help absorb the costs of airlines not authorized to operate international flights during the ICAO inspection», Chula Sukmanop said.
