Qatar Airways ha celebrado su 20º aniversario
El sábado, 30 de septiembre de 2017, Qatar Airways celebró 20 aniversarios de la aerolínea nacional qatarí. La fiesta tuvo lugar con una espectacular exhibición aérea de las famosas Red Arrows. Y mientras los aviones Hawk atravesaban el horizonte de la ciudad de Doha.
El pequeño país, pero rico en recursos de petróleo ha tenido su propia línea aérea durante mucho más de 20 años, pero durante mucho tiempo, fue sólo un pequeño jugador regional con poca influencia. En 1997, sin embargo, el transportista fue relanzado como la aerolínea que conocemos hoy.
Gran parte del éxito de la aerolínea ha sido acreditado a su directo y colorido director ejecutivo, Akbar Al Baker. El Qatar de 55 años convirtió lo que era una aerolínea con sólo cuatro aviones en uno que ahora cuenta con una flota de 200 fuertes. En este año Skytrax World Airline Awards, la aerolínea fue nombrada como la Mejor Línea Aérea del Mundo, un elogio que puede agregar a un gabinete de trofeos cada vez mayor de premios similares.

Even with a major political crisis in the region affecting business, the airline continues to expand – last week, Baker announced an order for 6 Boeing aircraft valued at $ 2.16 billion USD. That is on top of more than 100 aircraft already on demand with Boeing and Airbus.
