Este viernes, 2 de Diciembre despega el primer vuelo de Joon Airlines, la nueva filial de Air France que nace con el cometido de recuperar el terreno perdido por el grupo francoholandés a manos de sus rivales low-cost europeos y de las compañías aéreas del Golfo Pérsico.

Joon Airlines será un modelo diferente en el mercado, aunque competirá en un segmento muy competitivo del mercado. La aerolínea está dirigida a los jóvenes, un mercado prometedor para una clase que busca tarifas económicas.

LA RED DE SERVICIO DE JOON AIRLINES 

La programación de vuelos, desde este viernes, cubrirán las ciudades de Barcelona, Berlín, Lisboa y Oporto, a las que en unos meses se añadirán Estambul, Nápoles, Roma y Oslo. Todos son destinos a los que vuelan compañías low-cost bien asentadas en Francia, como es el caso de Easyjet.

Anteriormente Air France había creado Hop, otra compañía que pretendía ser low-cost, al igual que la holandesa Transavia con un modelo low-cost, es también parte del mismo grupo de empresas. Desde Francia es objeto de críticas a Air France por no poder identificar las estratégias de mercado al no acertar con un plan idónea para el grupo.

Joon Airlines también operará vuelo internacionales a partir de Marzo 2018, cuando la aerolínea francesa empiece a volar en largo recorrido destinos como Fortaleza (Brasil), las Islas Seychelles, El Cairo (Egipto), Ciudad del Cabo (Sudáfrica) y Teherán (Irán).

La base de la compañía estará en Charles de Gaulle, por lo que podrá ayudar a alimentar vuelos del grupo que opera principalmente desde este aeropuerto. Los vuelos de corto recorrido operarán con aviones Airbus A320 mientras que se espera que para el largo radio use Airbus A330.

Joon ha contratado 120 tripulantes que, según se ha informado, cobran un 40 por ciento menos que sus colegas de Air France. Joon tiene limitado su crecimiento a 28 aviones, según lo pactado con los sindicatos.  AIRWAYS® AW-Icon TXT
