El gobierno de las Islas Malvinas informó sobre los avances alcanzados para el establecimiento de un segundo vuelo comercial desde las Islas a terceros países
El semanario de las Islas Malvinas, Penguin News, ha comunicado a las embajadas británicas en Brasil, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay hicieron llegar a las cancillerías de esos países una carta emitida conjuntamente por los gobiernos de Argentina y Reino Unido solicitando ayuda para contactar aerolíneas comerciales locales que podrían estar interesadas en el establecimiento de un nuevo vuelo semanal desde y hacia las Islas Malvinas.
La recepción de los interesados se hará hasta fines de Febrero 2018, y a partir de entonces se iniciará un proceso comercial, administrado por las Islas Malvinas, con el propósito de evaluar propuestas viables de aquellas aerolíneas interesadas, y encarar las negociaciones del caso. El objetivo es asegurar a las Malvinas un vuelo semanal adicional para fines del 2018. Este vuelo sería complementario al que actualmente existe ofrecido por Latam Airlines desde y hacia Chile. Un vuelo a media semana ayudaría a sortear el problema, aún tratándose de un avión menor que uniera a las Falklands con Punta Arenas. 
Government of Malvinas seeks second flight
The Government of the Falklands Islands reported on the progress made in establishing a second commercial flight from the Islands to third countries
The Falklands weekly, Penguin News, has reported to the British embassies in Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay sent to the foreign ministries of those countries a letter issued jointly by the governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom requesting help to contact local commercial airlines They may be interested in establishing a new weekly flight to and from the Falkland Islands.
The reception of the interested parties will be done until the end of February 2018, and from then on a commercial process will be initiated, administered by the Falklands Islands, with the purpose of evaluating viable proposals of those interested airlines, and to face the negotiations of the case. The objective is to provide the Malvinas with an additional weekly flight by the end of 2018. This flight would be complementary to the one currently offered by Latam Airlines from and to Chile. A mid-week flight would help overcome the problem, even if it was a smaller plane that linked the Falklands with Punta Arenas. A\W
