Airbus entrega el primer Airbus A220 a Air Tanzania. Airbus ha anunciado la entrega del primer A220-300 en África, convirtiéndose en el cliente de lanzamiento del tipo en el continente. Air Tanzania ha pedido dos Airbus A220-300 configurados con 127 pasajeros. La aerolínea es el quinto operador del Airbus A220 en todo el mundo, después de SWISS, AirBaltic, Korean Air y Delta Air Lines.
Air Tanzania ha proyectado una renovación integral de la flota a principios de este año 2018 incorporando Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner empleados en vuelos domésticos. La aerolínea de Tanzania ha adquirido tres Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 y posee un Q-300. Air Tanzania utiliza sus turbopropulsores en las rutas a Dar-es-Salaam, Zanzíbar, Kilimanjaro, Kigoma, Dodoma, Songea, Mtwara, Mwanza, Bukoba y Mbeya a nivel nacional y el aeropuerto internacional de Moroni en Comoras a nivel regional.
Con la nueva adquisición del avión regional A220-300, la aerolínea refuerza el compromiso de incorporar tecnología de última generación para aplicar vuelos de cabotaje y regionales.
